A lot of times you have to change your whole routine. Stop just going to work, liquor store and home. Go fishing or boxing. Hiking. Switch jobs if you have too, do new stuff like volunteering or helping people that are way worse off than you.

Go to the nursing home and slums and see how bad things can be. Thatll make you know you're blessed.

I've been dealing with depression for over 15 years now. It started due to a triggering event in which I got jumped by 5 people on the way to a college party and the friend I went to this party with abandoned me and ran and I nearly was killed. Since then, I've dealt with medications that didn't do anything but make me fat and sluggish, I've heard some wishy washy fake ass advice from people who wanted me to stop talking to them and didn't actually want to help me, and until I come across a BLACK MALE THERAPIST...I refuse to go to therapy. I'm not talking to no black man hating black female therapist calling us "dusty bytches" on TikTok. :mjlol:

The main sources of my depression have come from
- Not having money/being broke and having it stopping me from doing what I want to do.
- Being Single/Lonely
- Feeling isolated/alienated in an overwhelmingly white city
- dealing with racism/anti-blackness

I deal with depression by:

- Making Music
- Skateboarding
- Collecting sneakers
- Buying clothes
- Talking online to people (cause I don't talk to many people in my real life)

With that said, I am so thankful for the coli, cause I can breathe on here and discuss the things I want to discuss to like minded people who can relate.

I feel a lot of Black Men are depressed...but we don't have outlets or support systems Black Women do...so we tend to dwell in very self-desrtuctive mindsets
And we're gaslit for talking about our feelings...made to feel weak...made to feel like failures for having emotions. But that's normal.

With that said, I wouldn't wish what I'm going through on anybody...but depression won't end your life. There are ways to overcome what you dealing with.
Spend 3 years taking Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. After your testosterone levels peak I doubt ull be depressed.

Depressed people don't do themselves any favors by not exercising and not getting outside to get sunlight.

Exercise aka BJJ. Change your diet. Get sunlight. If you can manage this without falling into one of your downward spiral you should be good.

Until a bytch pisses you off and or you get fat again.

Honestly try and get rid of social media or atleast delete the apps on your phone. I had Instagram and that shyt was detrimental to my relationship and also not a real form of reality that you can get easily caught up in. Try and get into some hobbies that you enjoy. I started getting into ju jitsu and I’ve met some interesting people the pipelines are to meet people are out there people just need to find ways to break their day to day.

Because this war on your mind shyt is real and with all this shyt going on in social media it can amplify shyt if you’re going through depression.

To be rather harsh. The question is, are you being a bytch.
As in, there are MILLIONS of folks who would trade places with you right now.
Older folks who wish for another 10 years.
Those who sick.
Those going through massive loss.
Some people are starving.
Have no hope whatsoever.

Again, are you being a bytch.
I 100% understand, things will never ever be as you would like them to be though.

A lot of people will say this because it does have good benefits. Work out. Figure out a good routine for you and stick to it. Start small
-You will feel better physically, have more energy
-Mentally, investing in your yourself and doing something positive will make you feel stronger
-Staying active will occupy and stimulate your mind

Cant give up. Think that sunlight and water helps. Treat yourself like a plant. Journaling helps. Surround yourself around positivity. Watch videos you know will make you laugh. Exercise. Take your vitamins. Go to the doctor to get checked up regulary. Dentist and all too. Unfortunately, as long as we are alive, depression will come and go.. just have to learn how to manage it. If you feel that you need to seek a psych as in you feel suicidal, call 911 and ask to be hospitalized as you feel youre a threat to yourself.

1. I remind myself that every moment I think I cant do it anymore, I just did it

2. I remind myself it's just a feeling, and it's not how you feel it's what you do

3. I don't care cause it's my default 80 percent of the time
