:laff:

They're saying what tax policy they propose. Congress has to ratify the laws.

Read a bunch of Cato Institute shyt and not the Constitution, brehs.

Article 1, Section 8
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;
:sas2:

Are you sure??I dont see the conflict..Ronald reagan wasnt a typical republican either..he was a former actor and used to be a democrat...

First thing to appreciate is these are all projections,Nobody is certain exactly HOW they will affect the economy. The second problem will be getting them through congress which is where Hillarys plans will surely die..but she knows this already.
Simplifying the tax code is something that should have been done a long time ago and the idea that the Govt will just keep taking until it has enough is ridiculous..there have to be cuts and trumps plan would force that.

:comeon: Now since its clear i already knew this can we move past trivialities and maybe you can admit a president has more influence on tax policy than any other individual.

Stop it with the deflections. You didn't start this convo saying a president has influence over tax policy. You said Clinton could've just closed the loophole if he wanted. You were wrong.

:comeon: They dont have any control huh? Then what are the candidates saying when they post these plans? Its all empty words then
Believe everything candidates, ESPECIALLY Donald Trump, say on the campaign trail brehs :mjlol:

:patrice: If you two are quite done being obtuse .. lets all admit the president sets the policy tone at the very least and if the president is very influential they get most if not all of the changes they ask for.

Thats why certain changes are called the Reagan tax cuts or the Bush tax cuts and so on...they arent called congressional cuts
This nikka backpedaled all the way back up "Dont Know shyt" river.... check him out yall :russ:

What this should prove is that simply raising the tax rate on the wealthy is not a fruitful policy as long as loopholes for the wealthy are cooked into the tax system. If you trust the same political class (aka HRC) that allowed Trump to pay whatever paltry tax rate he paid to now eliminate those loopholes as they promise to raise the tax rate...:francis:

Safe to say you wouldn't want to argue the particular merits of each of their proposed tax plans then.

I actually believe in progressive taxation (as long as it's going to positive ends like healthcare, education, infrastructure, etc and not to militarizing police departments or funding the neoimperalist military industrial complex via subsidies for defense contractors). My point is that simply saying you're going to raise the tax rate doesn't mean shyt when Donald Trump is legally paying peanuts.

Was i? this is exactly what i said
he could have changed the relevant codes if it bothered Hillary that there were such big loopholes for millionaires .

Bill clinton made alot of changes to Banking policy, welfare policies,Incarceration policies,Drug war policies ....He even got his very unpopular tax raises through both houses

Lets not act like he tried and failed to close those loopholes...which was my point. if he wanted to he could have pushed for better Tax policy

but you and your gang of liberals want to bury inconvenient facts in trivial little details ....please carry on

:wow: Wow youre a dap fishing moron...where did i backpedal exactly...It was my informed opinion that he could have done something based on the other shyt he did..

The 1993 Clinton tax increase raised the top two income tax rates to 36% and 39.6%, with the top rate hitting joint returns with incomes above $250,000 ($400,000 in 2012 dollars). In addition, it removed the cap on the 2.9% Medicare payroll tax, raised the corporate tax rate to 35% from 34%, increased the taxable portion of Social Security benefits, and imposed a 4.3 cent per gallon increase in transportation fuel taxes.

:ohhh: how wrong of me to think a president who can raise taxes, impose a new tax on gas....all really unpopular moves that affect everyone ...yet he couldnt close that loophole that affects only trump and a few millionaires

Only taxes I bother to keep up with is property tax since most of school funding comes from it. I can save for my own retirement and don't need to supplement the medical care for people who don't want to work and 25 years old claiming ADHD so that they can collect SSI Disability, Obama phones and SNAP cards.

In 2014-15, i paid almost 40 thousand dollars in Taxes in Canada

I dont miss the money. I never factored it in, and furthermore I went to the free hospital a few times for health ailments, grew up in public housing, and got a subsidized education at a public university.

So to answer your point OP, Trump has found another way to disgust and enrage me.

:francis: Thats canada,They take your money and spend it on YOU...what if they took that 40k and you still had to buy your own heathcare, pay back college loans and had to pay $5000 or so in property taxes every year to keep your modest 200k 3 bedroom family home

How do you think you would feel then?

If the law passed, then by definition it was popular no? Some one other than bill Clinton had to like it and vote for it no?
