There's conflicting information, but how many years after Jesus' death was the bible written?

30? 40? 50?

I mean whether or not Jesus existed does little to prove whether or not any of these religious tales are true.

But...if there was no documentation of the JFK assassination (or his existence) until 1970, people would call it bullshyt.
Imagine 30 years later?

All of the books were written before 70AD. The main evidence is none of them contain the destruction of the Temple. For us it would be if something destroyed the white house, Congress and the supreme court. We would be talking about that for centuries.

Even Alexander the Great autobiography wasn't written until over 400+ years later.

Josephus was to die because he took part in the Jewish revolt against the Romans. In exchange for his life he became tasked with writing what was going on TRUTHFULLY. If not he would be killed. We also have documents written from Caesar from the prefect about a Jewish teacher performing miracles and raising people from the dead. We have multiple sources about Jesus. They are in museums today.

MIracles didn't happen. Just get that through your head. Stop thinking magically. It makes you an insipid child.

Furthermore, EVERY critic dismisses Josephus not because of the conditions he wrote his "testimony" under but because not only did he never meet this guy, everything he wrote is hearsay. All of it.

And? Just because theres the codex seraphinianus doesn't mean what happened in it is true.

The article confuses me since the N.T. Is the most accurate historically set of documents we have. 2nd is the Iliad by Homer. Both cannot be true.

There are stories of Sherlock Holmes depicting 19th Century England...doesn't mean Sherlock existed.

We have more evidence for Jesus than Aristotle, Tiberus Caesar and Julius Caesar for combined but none of those three existence is in doubt.

It amazes me what is put out by some people and gobbled up as if it is fact. Bart Erhman is back to being a Christian again because he was wrong about his examination of the documents.

Look at the evidence for yourself. It would help a lot.
