Nike has a 31% payout ratio on their dividend. They're right there with Disney who also has a payout ratio that low. They have a lot of room to grow that dividend and as time goes on they will.
:mjlol: Yaw care too much about shyt like that. All that matters is the yield. Those big companies will never go higher than 5% nomatter what.

:mjlol:Truth be told, most dividend stocks are stable. Don't get me wrong, I have access to some exclusive ones so I may be speaking from a place of bias, but I feel like unless you're an idiot, you can find solid companies (like EPR) that give dividends with a decent yield (20% currently) and are very stable.

:mjlol:Unless your flipping stocks, majority of your portfolio should be dividends with a 20-33% average ratio. My personal ratio is much higher, but I'm the king of dividend stocks after all.

:mjlol:I still can't get over the fact that you have 20k worth of dividend stocks but only get 1k a year.

The yield matters less than the yield on cost. You're buying this today and your yield is 1.5% If the payout ratio is low then the company has the freedom to grow that dividend faster and what you got today at 1.5% yield will be worth more than the 5% yield today that doesn't really grow the dividend and has a 70% payout ratio.

I looked up your EPR stock. They earn $2.32 per share and are paying out in dividends $4.59. How are they funding that dividend when it's damn near 2x their earnings per share? How is that sustainable?

:mjlol: Bruh, obviously we are in a market crash with the virus scare. Their stock goes for 4x more than what it is usually. They are a billion dollar company, not a mom and pop store. They been paying dividends for years, you can check their record. Their yield is inflated because of the dip, which is why you should buy them now while you can.

:mjlol:And I don't need any of the companies in my port to "grow" their dividend, which 95% of stocks that offer dividends never do anyway. I just need the percentage to be high enough where I can eat for a year then sell at the end of the year for a profit, or hold long term and make my money back plus profit by year 3.

:mjlol:SEC approved companies don't just die off like that. All you need is the company to be around for 5-10 years and you're good. EPR will survive the recession and not only give you 4x on the stock, but pay you 20% a year if you act now.

I have to confess I don't know how to calculate a dividend payout. For example on Robinhood the Div/Yield for Nintendo is 2.09. What exactly does that mean and how do you figure out how much you'll be getting? I know its probably gonna be like .50 or something, but I still want to know. Thanks

:mjlol:That's the percentage of money you have invested given back to you per year.

For example: a 10% yield on a 100 dollars worth of stock, would be 10 dollars per year.
