In this matter, the 3rd party in question doesn't "step in",
that third party is PULLED IN by one of the two parties.
Follow me now...the question this thread title asks is essentially
"Why does that party PULL IN the third party?"
The threadstarter says it's for one particular reason. I don't think that is true.

I stated in this very response that you shortened and quoted that I am sure different people file for different reasons.
Some because they have to.
Some because the relationship has soured in some way.
And yes
Some for structure.
Is your position that no one ever files so they can have some structure in regards to support and visitation?
