:pachaha:

this is such a bad post on so many levels..

most of yall were really just talking about nfl players (working out, injuries)

they dont even have guaranteed contracts. Someone mentioned security, which would pertain to them as well. Everyone else can rest easy when their sig is on a contract

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Why yall hatin on athletes tho :snoop:

Oprah is a billionaire from doing a fukking talk show...yall hate her too?

What about lil wayne, jay z,or any other millionaire rapper? Yall hate them too?

What about these actors that get paid 20 mill for a movie it took them less then 60 days to shoot? Yall hate them too?

:wtf:

Who is hating? I don't even see anyone saying they shouldn't get paid. They get what the market is willing to pay, the fact still remains that they're doing something as a job most of us do for fun. Yeah we ain't even in the same ballpark as them, but you got dudes like @The_Sheff saying a 9-5 is easier :merchant: There isn't a single nikka on this forum that wouldn't trade their job for Matt Bonners job right now, keep in mind he's going to make $3.9 million next year.

I know IT money on the Coli is long, but Tom Brady ain't trading his job for ANYONES on here. The dude sitting at the end of the bench on the Kings isn't trading his job for ANYONES job on this forum, yet the 9-5 is easier? :smh:

You seriously gonna sit here and tell me playing QB in the NFL is easier than a regular 9-5 job. :childplease: Bruh you shermed up right now.

No Tom Brady wouldnt trade jobs with us because he is good enough to be an NFL QB. If he has worked hard enough and has the talent to play in the NFL why would he want to do anything else? Thats a dumb ass statement you made bruh.

Matt Bonner can drain 3's all day and he worked hard to be able to do it. Can you beat him in a 3 point contest? If it was easy then you would be out there shooting 3's. He wasnt born able to shoot.

LOL at you watching the Mayweather fight talking about "Man Mayweather getting 45 million to fight, i work harder than him and i beat Lil J ass last week". :dead:

If being a pro athlete is so easy compared to your job, why arent you a pro athlete? There are countless sports out there that dont require height so whats your excuse?

Lets just use basketball for this one example, if you boil it down what is basketball?

Putting a ball in a hoop

think about that, getting paid millions to put a ball in a hoop :lupe:

And all the guys talking about the stresses of being an athlete need to be real, heck even if you only play ONE year in the league your getting 375k MINIMUM.

The average American wont make that in 5 years

And dont get me started about baseball :aicmon:

How about talent breh :aicmon: hard work aint getting no where if you not talented enough, the real world does not work out like the movies :beli:

The reason hes working 9-5 is because he does not have the talent, same with 99% of the population.

It takes talent AND HARD WORK. Just like it takes smarts AND HARD WORK to get ahead in the real world for most people. And remember athletes have people gunning for their jobs every year so they have to stay on top of their game. If most of the posters here had to compete for their jobs every year they would be assed out.

Wait..you aren't trying to imply that an individual with NFL caliber talent, does not have it easier than someone stuck working a 9-5 are you :dead:

See when you look at an event you just see the finished product so you just say its talent. You dont see all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes to allow that person to perform at that level. You dont see the hours in the weight room, the hours outside practicing, the hours spent studying film, the time spent with the trainer because your body is torn to shreds the next day, etc....you just see someone on Sunday throwing a ball. The same goes for any sport. Now when they finally hone their skills to the point where they are on top then it may take less work to maintain that ability but you cant discount all the work it took to get to that point in the first place.

So yes what im saying is that to get to the level of a Tom Brady and often maintain that level of expertise it takes a lot more hard work than it does to apply to the Kia plant and tighten screws all day.

Posters in here keep going back to the excuse that they arent 6'6 so they couldnt be an athlete, ignoring all the sports where you dont need height to compete like soccer, baseball, tennis, golf, hockey, boxing, cricket, bowling, cycling, running, etc... Its easier to say someone was born better than you than to admit they worked harder and tried more than you.

You brothers have a complete and utter lack of perspective. Let's Take several things into consideration.

1.I would trade my life as a Student/past life as a mover/grocery worker to be the CEO of a fortune 500 company tomorrow, and as would all of you. But I will not discount that being a CEO is just as mentally arduous as my job is physically or mentally arduous.
2.The vast majority of you don't even have physically arduous jobs. You sit in an Air Conditioned office and fill out spreadsheets, reports, and go to meetings. The ones of you that have physically arduous jobs that are in demand (construction, unionized factory, ect.) are usually well compensated it for it relative to what you're putting into it. The ones of you who don't and are working minimum wage jobs are either unlucky and are stuck at that job or do not have the ambition to do something else.
3.These professional Athletes workout harder every day than you've ever worked out in the hardest single session inyour entire life. They wake up, repeat and do that sheet every day. And they've been doing this since they were kids, or else they would not have made it to that junction.
4.There is no "off time" as a professional athlete. You're constantly working on getting an edge on your competitor, because like you guys have insinuated, your career doesn't laast too long, and you're never guaranteed a job.
5.The Injury RISK is real. Forget Football and hockey, which poses life threatening and debilitating injuries for EVERY single player. even ,soft sports like baseball and basketball, typically end up with you suffering from ARthritis earlier than other people of your age, as well as being dependent on painkillers and other drugs that would keep your competitive edge despite your body telling you that its UNNATURAL to do this every single day of your entire post-puberty life.
6.These neegaz have a tremendous skill. And I mean a tremendous skill. In Life, no matter what walk of life it is, you will get paid handsomely if you can do something extremely well. If you're the best damn janitor on the planet, best believe you're going to get a reward that the average janitor won't get. These neegaz can do things with their body, hands, feet, and skillset that you goofs go out and try to replicate and fail miserably, and can't comprehend how someone could regularly do that. Extreme Skill = Extreme PAy, especially when that skill is something that wonders humanity, as humanity is amazed by the continuous pushing of the limits of the human body and human dexterity.

There's nothing to grasp your mind around. These nikkaz are THAT Good to the point that you, I, and all of the World will willingly pay money to watch them play. It's simple as that, IF we weren't interested in watching Mesi, Kobe, and Adrian PEterson they would have no market...but we are.

so you goofs need to reevaluate your own lives, stop the badmind mentality, and work on getting yours instead of pretending to act amazed for what these heroes are rightfully earning

Great post bro. I am a D1 soccer player and i know what you are talking about. Most of this cats wont be able to keep up with the physical demand of playing sports at a high level. Hitting the gym for an hour plus, while also training for 2 hours every effing day. Yea shyt is easy:childplease:

lol @ whoever said that NBA players only work four nights a week.

being a professional athlete takes a ridiculous amount of hard-work & dedication. its something that most people aren't trying to sign up for.

generally speaking: name a professional athlete and 9 times out of 10, that athlete will be able to recall there being at least a few other dudes that were just as talented as him when he was growing up.

Lets just use basketball for this one example, if you boil it down what is basketball?

Putting a ball in a hoop

think about that, getting paid millions to put a ball in a hoop :lupe:

theres way way more to being a professional athlete than simply putting a ball in the hoop or swinging a bat. I mean, if it was that simple, then why aren't you out there playing?

also, keep in mind that these athletes are getting paid millions BECAUSE THEYRE GENERATING BILLIONS.

i mean take a look at your own life. 80% of us probably hate our job. and from my own personal experience a job can make ur whole life a living hell. now lets think for a second, these cats are getting PAID to play a game.most of em have absolutely no idea what its like to go to a 9-5 let alone a 9-5 that they hate or work a nightshift job. have we really wrapped our heads around this b4??:patrice: i cringe when i see the words "feel sorry for" in the same sentence as a pro athlete. im not hating or anything cuz it takes hard work to even be the last man on the bench but its a real mindblowing thing to think about considering how many ppl outchea working 80+ hrs weekly and STILL living paycheck to paycheck

They get paid because they have a good union, and generate copious amounts of revenue.

At the end of the day athletes are paid to provide entertainment just like every other type of media. The market pays for what the people want :yeshrug:

This

Is the reason professional athletes are paid so much. Millions of people pay to see their talent, and companies want to take advantage of the advertising opportunities based on those people watching. It's the entertainment industry, it can be very lucrative, but it's very competitive.
