This is the problem with Science as being a guide to it all.
Forget the big bang theory even. It seems the majority of physicists have accepted it as what really happened so we can accept that. Have you tried to find out what happened before the big bang? There is not going to be a consensus anytime soon.....
Or have you tried to get a definitive answer on how the moon was formed? Man, there are hundreds of things science is yet to explain. It will always be this way.
Science is a great way to gain knowledge and insight and as humans it is the best way we have but one can definitely see its limitations.
Something else is underneath all of your hostility towards a God you believe doesn't exist. What is it?

yeah. I agree. In my opinion, science is mankind's attempt to understand an infinite God. It's the closest we can get to him without faith being required.
You are working from the presumption that I long for an affinity towards your god. I do not. There is no hostility. There simply is no rational reason to worship a discarnate fictional creature that operates outside of this time/space continuum and possesses wickedness beyond that of any mortal being. For your god to be revealed as a mythical entity, your impression of stability and security comes to a halt, and your anxiety towards ceasing to exist arises. You continue to associate enmity with anyone who opposes your god when there is none. I am simply expressing my understanding of this reality as you are.
YES you get eaten by maggots, or burn in an urn - thats it. there's zero evidence for souls or afterlife. Can you prove what happens after death scientifically? NO.

theres nothing more than the physical. zero evidence for spirt and soulThat's the physical evidence of death, but that doesn't explain what happens to the soul....assuming that you understand we are made up of a body, spirit, and soul.
the only example of consciousnesses in the universe is physical, specifically the brain and nervous system. once the brain is gone so is the consciousness as a result there is no afterlife - this is not faith it is fact.Very insightful answer (no sarcasm). I work in Bio Engineering so we have this discussion a lot.
So what scientifically happens to you consciousness?
We know what happens to you body (i.e your answer) but you know for a fact that we are not 'just a body'. Our consciousness is not eaten by maggots.
As YOU SAID there is zero evidence - of afterlife ...meaning you don't know and believers don't know.
Not attempting to be combative but that means scientifically you nor I know what happens to your consciousness after death, therefore we both have faith in our respective stances being correct. Yours = nothing. Mine= afterlife. Both take faith.
If you call God a mythical entity I will not experience anxiety and ceasing to exist does not cross my mind. Ever.
You went through great detailed lengths to disprove God's existence. Every subjective noun you used to describe him was condescending.
You do indeed have hostility towards a God you don't believe exists. Since he isn't real to you, why debate this with strangers on the internet?
theres nothing more than the physical. zero evidence for spirt and soul
How do you draw a connection with the natural and supernatural? How can you look around and not believe that there is a God![]()
Not true for non-theist. Questions we can not answer drives us to explore.Questions we can not answer through science drive all of us to faith.
