That’s what I’m saying.. I’m being brought up in this discussion like I said I love Adele and shyt. I can’t name 5 Adele songs.. I’m just saying she’s killing everybody SALES WISE. nikkas be naming all these singers like Jill and Jasmine when it’s convenient.. I still laugh at all these Solange fans that popped up when A Sea at the table dropped.. I was like y’all remember then other 3 albums she dropped? The albums she dropped when y’all were clowning her talking about she ain’t Beyoncé?

Why? A seat at the table was easily better than her other albums so what were you laughing at

Yooooo...is this true? :ohhh:

If it is, then music journalism is truly dead and every black persons in the music industry is a c00n and a slave

It is true.

The BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology

'Selective in its intake, the school is notable for its numerous famous alumni including Marsha Ambrosius, Adele, Tara McDonald, Leo the Lion, Stefan Abingdon, Katy B, The Feeling, Imogen Heap, Jessie J, Cush Jumbo, Rizzle Kicks, the Kooks, King Krule, Loyle Carner, Leona Lewis, Eman Kellam, Raye, Ashley Madekwe, Katie Melua, Kate Nash, Shingai Shoniwa, Amy Winehouse, Ella Eyre, Rainy Milo, Antonio Orozco, and Tom Holland.'

.....

'....the school is funded by the British Government with support from the British Record Industry Trust....'

There are a splattering of articles out there talking about this. Some even criticise the school and what it's doing to the industry, but for obvious reasons it's not talked about too much.

If Adele was black making the same music she would not sale like she does. She would definitely be mid-tier and not winning awards like she does. Same with Sam Smith. I don’t see how you could say different knowing they just take soul music and packaged it differently. From the 60’s on down. Rumor Has it sounded like it was from Motown.

Other white singers not selling isn’t relevant to the arguement. Tons of Black singers don’t either. The music business isn’t set up for everyone to sale. We are talking about those on this level able to break out to present their music on a world stage. If Adele was Black she would be Jasmine Sullivan and sadly there are a lot of black people that wouldn’t buy Black Adele because as a Black artist we expect more. You have to do more than be able to sing in the Black community because tons can sing like that. But a white girl with “soul”?

Both are talented. I actually like Sam Smith more than Adele. She is boring to me. When Hello came out I just didn’t get the hype. Still don’t. It didn’t make me want to buy her album. I will still sing it when it comes on in the car tho. It is talent level PLUS complexion.

Clowns always bring up Jazmine Sullivan or Jill Scott in these Adele discussions. What was the last Jill or Jazmine album you all purchased? I'll wait. You all have to dead this ___________ sells just because they are white. There are tons of white R&B and rap artists that never make it out of the gate. More so rappers. By y'all logic some cac like T-Bo should have been selling millions.

ALWAYS.

What kills me is that black audiences have abandoned traditional rnb, if it ain’t that trap n b Bryson filler or August alsina shyt, we ain’t bumping it.

And it better be vulgar and Xrated. Even Chris Brown “the new MJ” is X-rated.

You play some quiet storm rnb for somebody 25 and younger and they’re confused; it’s too slow and not vulgar enough. It’s corny and G rated, almost Disney like <<< I’m wrong?

You’re right but her music was always decent or good. The True EP was great to me. I liked the album before Thad. Don’t remember the first one that much. She was getting clowned before 2016

I think we've abandoned much more than traditional r&b. I think we've abandoned pretty much every previous form of black music prior to trap.

I think of what I used to hear on the same radio station as a kid:

"It's Like That" - Run-DMC
"Angel" - Anita Baker
"Mister Magic" - Grover Washington Jr
"Fo Fi Fo" - Pieces Of A Dream
"Could You Be Loved" - Bob Marley
"Funky Sensation" - Gwen McCrae
"Feel The Fire" - Stephanie Mills
"Fast Car" - Tracy Chapman
"Roxanne, Roxanne" - UTFO
"Try Jah Love" - Third World"
""Drop the Bomb" - Trouble Funk

Adele isn’t even RnB. She doesn’t make “black” modern music. You’d only know this you’ve listened to her music. You can’t even dance to the shyt

So you should be comparing her to Taylor Swift or those other white musicians

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
100% to do with why she has more opportunities than a dark skinned artist, without discussion.
She definitely is inspired by soul music and leans towards soul music, especially on her debut album.

Her being white at least removes all of the road blocks black women artists face. No discussion.

Had Keyshia Cole been white.. Had India.Arie been white... we know they prefer white men and women in all top slots, so they always get the push.

@Tribal Outkast @The Devil's Advocate I assume you´re cacs, if not, you´re 2 lost negros.
Nah my argument made perfect sense if you read what I actually posted and not the fake news

I fully agree being white helps. What I also said was no other white women in history has her numbers so it ain’t the only thing. And Whitney and MJ been number 1 for longer than any white person ever

So it’s more than JUST being white. We act like she’s the first white soul singer in history. There’s been thousands and none of them could top a black singer until her

And I’m black

Laughing at how people can pull names out the woodwork but ain’t buying a motherfukking thing from them.

You got drake, cole, Kendrick proving you can still move units. Beyoncé, Rihanna, weekend all proving you can still move units. Among countless others in hip hop and r&b

Yet people in here naming all these singers who would blow if white. Yet they black and no black people support. They out here putting out duds with no fanfare or even a thread on the Coli. But if they magically turn white, they’d be doing 31 million an album too

How about we support our own FIRST instead of only bringing them up to shyt on other people
