If you took 8 songs off LAD there would be an argument. As a double disc, no.

This.

I'm curious how old people were when this came out. The album was cool but I vividly remember nobody wanted to say anything bad about it because BIG died. Juelz was like 13 when the shyt dropped so I'm curious if the barrage of nonstop "BIG just died, GOAT record!" got to him or not.

:dwillhuh: you actin like biggie wasn't held in high regard before his death, especially in nyc.
i was in 7th grade when it came out, and had it in rotation then on the train to and from school.
13 years old in nyc is 16 years old other places.

NYC is the problem. NY is arguably the worse place on Earth to determine whether or not "LAD" was over rated.

What was anybody in NY going to say negative about BIG, directly after his death?

How do you think Seattle responded to Cobain dying? Or the west to Pac dying?

This is exactly my problem. I loved the album when it dropped and actually had it ahead of time. But Biggie could do nothin wrong at the time cause of the circumstances and people seriously overlooked the flaws of the album cause of it.

That's all I'm saying. There was a gang of rappers in NY that didn't like BIG. He died....all the sudden the same dudes are talking about :wow: "BIG is the GOAT".

Can't say I blame them because you don't want to be the one dikk head criticizing a dead man. But I was 20 when the shyt dropped, and was mystified by how well it was received. I mean....I understood the game but it was just like :dahell: "damn, ok he's suddenly the GOAT after two albums?"

What are the wack songs on LAD?

Nasty Girl was a club banger and served it's purpose. Nasty girl still go hard in a club if a DJ played it today.

Same thing with "Another" wit Lil Kim, it was a playful song and showed his versatility as a songwriter.

I was never big on I love the dough beat, but the bars more then made up for it, and turned it into an enjoyable song

I can maybe give you going back to Cali

Every other song is Classic!

Buying an album =/= it's the GOAT, and the artist is the GOAT.

I copped the album day 1, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say. It was a cool, popular album catapulted into some other shyt because BIG died.
