Well, the media doesn't hide the fact that Black people are carjacking. They will show the carjackers and the carjackers family members in news reports.

Buying into the false narrative that the media is hiding Black criminality in an attempt to make the media further pathologize Black people collectively as being prone to criminal behavior is a problem.

The media is constantly reporting on Black crime, but never the solutions outside of the non-solutions such as more policing, no cash bail, and harsher sentencing where it concerns Black people.

That is the end goal so when I see so-called progressives justifying the rightwing talking points, it is a problem. They are attempting to frame racist arguments as not being what they are which is... Anti-Black.

In the TYT video, they argued against that, and explained why *some* local media take a more responsible approach in reporting after decades of scaremongering about Black crime for ratings, but they did not follow Fox News' reasoning. Besides, crime reporting is still wildly lopsided in the media. There are entire networks and journalists who makes it their mission to *only* report on so-called Black crime.

As far as what happened in Kansas and Kyle Rittenhouse:

Different states, different laws. They released the identity of the adult suspects, but not the juveniles. And it's not because they were Black, but because Kansas has laws that protect the identity of juvenile offenders.

The best thing to do is to watch the entire video for yourself, and not just the timestamp.

It is the same argument the rightwing makes, "Blacks are getting special treatment by the media because the media thinks Blacks suffer more than whites", and the reasoning they make aligns closely with Ana's reasoning.

Her conclusion that the media does hide Black criminality is untrue and her premise that "they do it because they don't want to feed into stereotypes" is also untrue.

That's not the argument they make, and that's not the argument she made. They were saying the media was hiding the shooters identities because they want America to hate white men, and are trying to start a war against them.

She never said the media hides black criminality in general, she said if there is an active/uncaught suspect, they will release the race because it can help lead to capture, but if they're already in custody, they may withhold it to stop people (racists) from saying, "of course it was black people!" which we all know they love to do.

The reasons she gave were false as was the conclusion to the reasons. And the there is no truth to the claims that the news goes out of their way to show white crime and hide Black crime.

I didn't reframe her argument, I didn't spin her words, she clearly said, "the news tries to avoid race, especially Black people." meaning, the news goes out of its way to hide Black crime. So folks can't turn around and start defending her like they sometimes do, if they disagreed with the very question.
