i have been following global/national politics as a hobby for the past 20 years.
every year i got more into it.
i've always been into history and i took two russian history classes in college.
this gave me a leg up in understanding this whole shyt storm.
i did not jump into the mega thread when it first started but i got in relatively early (i think?) and the knowledge i had acquired previously definitely helped me ease into it.
it's always helpful to just ask questions.
many of the people in that thread and on the coli in general are more than willing to provide information.
