Missed out purely due to the collaboration as who knows what those minds couldve cooked up in the lab. If anything it proves Dre lives in his head and not his chest and explains why him and Pac didn't click. If it wasn't already obvious.

Those might've been the experiences he needed to invigorate his well of soundscape for the decades of classics he spent searching after 2001 kicked... Makes you think. He spent a lot of time reinventing the wheel after that and feeling like he came up short and just the insight alone on the combined studio experience of three legends would've been quite something.

Moral of the opportunity is when it knocks open the door, even if you only intend to chat on the doorstep because they may drop a lil something something that grows into fruition later on in your trip.

They wanted to work with him because of what they heard.

He ran away because, according to you, he had doubt about his ability to deliver.

This creates doubt about his ability. He should've went there and delivered :yeshrug:

Breh, this isn't according to me. He bowed out due to them being his heroes. That should've been the end of the story, but nooooo... We have The Booth arm chair A&R's and producers weighing in to project this narrative that "Dr. Dre is not a great because he has session players and musicians" and are using the clip from this interview to perpetuate that by saying he declined to work with them in fear of getting "exposed". Some of you are shamelessly using this to say that's a reflection on him not being talented. That's bogus because he'd have to be talented for someone of their echelon to contact him for production in the first place.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Truth hurts… no pun intended.

He just didn’t want to work with anyone that is going to infringe upon his studio generalship

You try telling Michael Jackson his take wasn’t good enough and needs another 90 attempts. He would’ve moonwalked on your ass like :mj:

The man backed off because he was afraid of not doing it correctly. He doubted his own ability to play at the biggest level. We doubting along with him.

The "hero' ange is weak. Michael and Prince were a lot of people heroes, they still work with him and delivered.
Dre froze. :yeshrug:

Him doubting his own ability does not give you or I the real estate to do the same. Why? Where's your classic albums? Where's the artists you put on? What catalog do you have to show?

Him bowing out of working with Prince, Michael, and Stevie takes nothing away from his legacy.

You just want to discredit him.

Yes, a lot of people worked with Prince, Michael, and Stevie, but show me a Hip Hop producer that did it and delivered. And by delivered, I mean produced songs that were actually significant to their careers. Teddy Riley delivered with MJ, but there's not ONE producer who delivered with all three.

Yes it does. If someone tells you the truth about him, believe him.

No, it just replaces it to where it belongs.

Kellz delivered.

Yes it does. If someone tells you the truth about him, believe him.

What truth does it reveal about him outside of he bowed out of working with three of the greatest artists of all time? He would have to be a GOAT himself to even be commissioned by the three of them for work. They don't just work with anybody.

No, it just replaces it to where it belongs

According to who? If you had Dre among the greats before seeing this interview and are knocking him down because of what he said, you're an idiot and anything you say about music from this point forward is worthless.

Kellz delivered.

R. Kelly isn't a Hip Hop producer. Show me a classic Hip Hop album helmed or produced by R. Kelly. This is why I said Prince, MJ, and Stevie were outside Dre's comfort zone.

It would be like Nas and Jay Z asking R.Kelly to produce for them and him turning them down because he doesn't do Hip Hop like that. He did a whole album with Jay, granted he didn't produce the whole thing, but those Best of Both World albums are bottom tier for both their careers.
