What about for losing weight? I'm trying to shed pounds and get cut, not just add muscle. Any advice?

Eat less. Track your calories and find a daily level that leads to weight loss.

I used to be 5'8 260 and pushed 365/Squatted 550/Pulled 525 in High School but I ain't about that powerlifting life no more

Just tryna look good af and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Been there where I'm the strong fatboy in the gym shyt ain't fun, lookin buff and having abs (I ain't never had abs in my life before it feels good) >>>

Used to never be able to dip even my own bodyweight or do a pullup so this is serious improvement for me

Lowkey I'm so nice to people in my gym, old, young, I always help people and always try to give people positive reinforcement and encouragement. I've noticed a lot of haters since I've shredded down, like skinny dudes that are mad cause I went from fat to swole and they're still stuck in the skinny regime, or fat guys that are still fat and mad I dropped the weight and kept it moving (dudes will try to lift next to me tryna show me up lold)

Real talk the truest way to be successful in the gym is to be willing to carry the fire inside of you and keep your heart pumping through the bullshyt. Steroids don't help, workout programs don't help, advice from other people don't help, carry Heart and complete your goals

It's all about improving yourself, not competing with some random nobodies you don't even know

If I have any personal preference, it wasn't even cardio that helped me lean down. It was the SUPERSETS and the reduced RESTING BETWEEN SETS, and the higher repetitions

Whenever I lift I ramp from a warm up, to increments to the highest weight I can do with good form (That focuses on the tension of the muscle), to dropsetting on 15-20 rep sets till my warmup set

Don't be afraid to superset, switching between a bench press and dips in a 10 second span is a good idea

Always switch up the routine of your lifting after awhile. Hammer curls everyday work, but only for a short time (I learned this the hard way). Then I switched to regular curls to supersetting with Hammer curls (dropsets everytime) and saw vascular/muscular improvement

My personal preference is to focus on the supersets and dropsets (Dropping the weight and going till failure on each increment with good form)

Just my .02, not everyone's body is the same, and everyone has different methods of doing things

It's your body, no one elses. Only you know what's best for your body

Eat a cleaner diet, understand why you need to eat a clean diet CLEAN of the toxins, chemicals, additives from junk ass food. Drink detox water, lemon, orange, basil, herb, ginger, in your water. I love drinking that. That helped with my gut.

Having heart is having character and dignity, being able to push through bullshyt in your life and stay motivated when people around you are tryna make you soft. But I can tell you flatout I know scrawny dudes that can break jaws and know big dudes that have glass jaws

He was like 3x bigger than my Puerto Rican friend too, this dude was like 6'2 270 at the time, my PR friend got big af, but at the time he was like 5'11 150

My friend snapped tho, told him he was gonna smack the fukk outta him, he don't care that I'm there (lol'd) he'll beat his ass, the fat boy clammed up so fukkin hard, this dude who talks so wild about fukking people up just got told to his face he ain't shyt and he'll smack the lips off him. Motherfukker didn't say shyt and went home, same dude walked up to me the NEXT day and said to me "Man **** is lucky he was drunk otherwise shyt woulda went down"

:heh: What the fukk, we essentially got the same goddamn height and weight. I'm probably a couple pounds lighter than you, but we're essentially identical height and weight wise. If you're not estatting and you're natural, you're a very, very gifted lifter man. Those are very impressive stats.

Yeah I checked my weight after you asked, the scale said I'm 180. I am trying to drop to 175. I don't know bro I ain't squatted or worked legs since high school so I really ain't shyt, and I ain't deadlifted since like three months ago, still pulled 315x8 somehow

Appreciate it bro but I still got a lot of work to do out here. Always lifting for myself and to keep improving on what I was, what I am, and what I'm trying to be.

Doing dips for 100 even with 4-5 reps, no matter what is still hella impressive, that's just pure raw strength you're carrying.

I'm getting some good info from this thread :feedme:

For me when I do smith machine I do a reverse grip flat bench

For me it helps with the squeeze a lot on my chest so I love doing it, I haven't done that in a minute but I have a buddy who can bench like 350 and he still has days where he uses smith machine bench. It helps with shaping the muscle for sure, (In my opinion, opinions vary)
