Hero’s eventually die... You know the song.

Now Dre being distant is even more normal. I mean once the money is made and legacy cemented... who wants be involved in the ultra competitive, social media crazy days of today!? I mean Tory Lanez tried to capitalise off shooting a woman... with an album release, Kanye is posting private conversations, . It’s all horrid.

Im saying the man literally coast off the glorified status of his where people put him in the solo top rappers with no work

How is he coasting when he didn't create that status? It came from people holding his work as a member of Kast in high regard in addition to the features he did outside of Kast. I don't see it any different to how people will put Prodigy up there with the GOATs based off his work as half of Mobb Deep. Yes, he has solo albums, but who is actually holding Prodigy's solo albums in the same regard as solos from artists that consistently pop in GOAT discussions? Basically, he's held in high regard for his work within Mobb Deep, not because he has solo albums in the ranks of solo albums from GOAT artists. This is no different than how people view Andre 3000. Andre 3000 dropping a solo album to prove that he can hold down a solo to appease people who think he's overrated would be the dumbest reason to ever drop an album.

someone spoke on the "what if" about Dre stepping back to not overshadow

but if we look at this realistically, like nobody does ever.

Maybe he never really wanted to rap like that in the first place :yeshrug: and being the best one in the entire group and neighborhood.... he was forced to carry the team. Now that the team is up the hill, he is like ... I'm done and y'all are on your own.
I dont think he's musically depressed at all or whatever smokescreen he threw out. He could easily just do features and be an executive producer. If rap music is about the actual art behind it...why are you gonna keep rapping about "struggling to make it" and weird shyt when its already done?
That's the reason I dont get too involved with shyt. Once you do a show, or help a group of people... then you are stuck in a loop and obligated to keep touring, keep helping them.... just one more verse etc. It becomes you making music for people asking for shyt, and fans asking for shyt and not you just making music because you enjoy it.
Then he backed himself into a corner with the wild outfits and persona (which was his naturally) but then everyone expects you to be some off the wall willy wonka ass dude. If you look at the difference between each album, its like he tried to break out of people saying "Oh you are this now" "Oh you are this now"
Then once you go Diamond, its like ... what the fukk am I trying to do here? Anytime I have fun and be natural, kicking it...everyone wants to overanalyze it and put me in a box. He didnt stop Big Boi from grabbing any money.... maybe for that one tour at the peak... but all that shyt is on Big Boi too, as much as we are a group... you have to make your own decisions too. He could have easily grabbed Ceelo, Dungeon Family, Organized Noise etc and did their own tour and wrote songs specifically for the stage. The communication wasnt there, they should have sat down and said ... okay Andre will promote our tour but not go on it.... or at best, make an appearance and do 1 or 2 songs and leave. It goes to show that without Andre, everyone had no clue what to do. Sir Lucious Leftfoot was an incredible album, all they had to do is aim for singles and nostalgia to keep touring and selling out shows if that's what they wanted. As time goes on, as in this thread.... it only get worse for Andre. Now if he came back there's a million people waiting for features, tours, interviews etc. You cant have Masta Killa's personality and be a diamond selling artist and global icon musically and fashion wise. You know how much pressure that is for a guy that didnt even want to be famous in the first place? I guarantee if you were close friends with Dre and vibing weekly... and told him with no intentions of putting it out, lets just fukk around with instruments and vocals... every saturday we can just jam, and talk about shyt and how your family is doing, what motivates you. He would do that shyt all day, as long as he trusted you enough to not bring it up or put any of it out. It's clear this man doesnt want to get involved in some shyt where he has to keep giving you the same energy and songs for a decade while carrying other people begging for shyt. Imagine thinking a dude who acts in mad movies, is super shy and bored with the process :troll:

Nah Dre loved rap in the beginning and has said so.

The man simply got burnt out. For many different reasons. Its not some deep mystery. Other interests, anxiety, the death of his parents, raising his son, etc. all of these things can have an adverse effect on one’s creativity as much as it can spur or motivate it.

proof his creativity didnt wane, is the guest features he's on... the instruments he plays daily still...the clothing he designs... showing up to other peoples sessions etc.
the only difference between having fun like that and what people ask for is the obligation for him to do so. If you were a great painter and used your excuse for loving it so much, but I kept asking you to paint trees and bumble bee's and shyt ... I could easily throw your passion off course for you :troll:

this dude hasnt lost his passion in 2020 he's still participating in it. He just doesnt want to be tied to the responsibility of basically sucking dikk and leading everyone to water. Since you Judo'd my "It's not some deep mystery" comment.... that's exactly what I said in my first post. His parents died way later that shyt wasnt even a factor, proof? He recorded 2 songs for them AND posted the text messages and released it online to millions of people. So is it oochie wally or one mic? That shows he is actively recording and releasing it worldwide was obviously his choosing. Doesnt seem like you feel so shy or bad if that's the case, you cant be shy to rap for 15+ years but also want to broadcast your parents death with new piano solos and personal text messages. But a song about the death of his parents is art, and he's not obligated to talk about it or perform it. He always stays in the lane of not feeling obligated to dwell on what he's done, and he's right. Meanwhile, if he does 7 new Outkast songs, he has to do a tour.... press conferences around the globe... worry about Big Boi and them.... go on stiff ass talk shows speaking with crackers talking about Hey Ya and Rosa Parks.... asking him why he's not being Mr Mambo Number 5 for everyone.:scust:That turns into "Lets get the gang all back to do another dungeon family record" who the fukk wants to do all that and be locked into a 3 year spiral of grind and madness just to help people eat who could just eat themselves? Think, even if he just made beats alone 10 years ago and tried to blend into the background, people would still be like "Come on man, just throw a verse on this shyt" You have to escape at that point... besides Cee-Lo absolutely shining as he normally does....Big Boi put out a few great records, but his last effort and a few others lack focus and production direction. Its a weird position to be in because you dont want to offend your crew, but you also dont want to kill yourself just so they can eat. If the group wanted to do another DF record and Big Boi wanted to invest into some heavy shyt, they wouldnt need Dre to help... but its evident that they do wait and need him more than people on here want to admit. Killer Mike would have been perfect to incorporate into DF but he's already stood on his own and carved a lane. Just a Big Boi, Sleepy Brown, Killer Mike El-P, Cee-Lo, DF tour would make all the money that everyone is talking about missing.... but they dont do it :yeshrug: you could easily have Mike throw verses over B.O.B, GhettoMusik and Ms Jackson and then just move onto solo sets.

Lies Lil nikka

How are they lies? Big Boi releases new music on the reg and none of the "Big Boi>>>>> Andre 3000" crowd show up. He just released a new song. Where are ya'll at because that thread doesn't have many replies. Big Boi has an actual solo catalog and none of the "Big Boi>>>>> Andre 3000" crowd actually discuss any of those albums. All you see is "Big Boi>>>>> Andre 3000" only when Andre 3000 is mentioned as in this thread. And even with ya'll saying it, none of you are even mentioning his albums or songs that support the claim.

If Big understands and ain't trippin, no one else should. Of course he was probably disappointed, but he understood.

Big Boi is all about hustle while 3K is about Art and Soul. As an artist, you have to know when's the right time for yourself to perform. Whatever Andre wants to do, he has to do it 3000. Anything less, he cant perform. I'm Sure it annoyed the hell out of Big Boi, but he knew he had to let Andre do his own thing. SB/LB described the duo perfectly.

Holy shyt at all the psychoanalyzing and armchair critiquing in this thread :pachaha:

Dre has one of the most accomplished, critically acclaimed, and varied discography in hip-hop. He more than paid his dues. Let the nikka be whatever he wants to be. :childplease:
