are there any other superstars that have relied so much on god given talents, that they forgot to practice/train the biggest aspect of the sport? which is the mental aspect. You have to know how to play against a team, and that requires lot of mental focus. You have to know who you are playing against, their strengths, their weakness...all these things they don't care about. they just want to look good on the stat sheet.

One other thing, both these players are not leaders. They aren't like Lebron or Kobe and lack the mental edge required to win against top talent teams. Basketball isn't all about scoring and scoring only.

People go on and on about Westbrook and Durant like the team around them isn't trash. Ibaka is afraid to shoot and not only that he keeps giving LA every single type of basket he wants and wide open midranges when he isn't getting abused in the post. This is supposed to be your defensive player and he's not good for anything except weak side blocks.

Both of these guys could benefit from a good coach. They've been handcuffed by inept coaching their entire careers. Only time the "team" looked legit was KD MVP season when Rusty was out. Every other time, they're just taking turns starting the offense 30 feet away from the basket. If they aren't playing at god like levels against good teams, then the mask is ripped off about how poor the supporting cast and coaching is. It's deeper than pointing your finger at 2 of the 5 best players in the league.

they're not easy to coach. look at how quickly they pout. even right now you can tell by their reaction. they've given up already. they're not smart players. every year you expect them to change how they play, but no. the offense is still your turn, my turn etc. it's ugly and easy to stop.
