(AllHipHop News) As a youngster Eminem aka Marshall Bruce Mathers had it tough, well documented in movies like 8 Mile and other visuals from his albums like the Slim Shady LP.
But, while Em grew up tough on the trailer parks and has the classic rags to riches story, Eminem’s ancestor was a 9th century Welsh King according to walesonline.co.uk.
Rhodri the Great is often referred to as “King of Wales” and fought against Vikings and Saxons.
Marshall’s ancestor Rhodri the Great was a king, but everything wasn’t lovely as he spent most of his life fighting in battle, and is said to have died during a Saxon invasion.
According to the online publication there are approximately, “12 centuries, 32 generations and four thousand miles between them,” but nevertheless its proven to be true based on information uncovered stating the following.
“Records on US family history site Geni show Eminem linked to leading US families before his lineage goes back to iconic figures in Welsh history like Hywel Dda and Rhodri Mawr.” – walesonline.co.uk
