Try this next time...

1. Dont call. If you didnt exchange numbers (meaning you're not saved in her phone), she won't know who it is and likely won't pick up. If she does, you're catching her by surprise and you run the risk of her ending the convo quickly to escape the awkwardness. Alternatively, you may catch her at a bad time which again harms your chances. Save phone calls for girls you're already seeing.

2. Text her and keep it simple and to the point. Here's an example:

"Hi jenny its OP. how are you?"
"im great thanks, how bout you? "
"good good. do you want to hangout this week?"

Focus strictly on logistics. You're not texting her to have a conversation, you're texting her to setup a date. Save rapport building convo for in person meet ups.

3. Take note of timing. It's better to text a girl at 8pm during the middle of the week, than late night Friday or Saturday when she's likely got other plans and people to think about. You can also use timing to guage interest... if it takes her less than 10 minutes to reply to your first text, thats a good sign. If she no replies or it takes days to hear back, she's not that interested.
