So let me get this straight...

Can I pay 29.99 or whatever the cost of the sample library is, sample the same exact loop as Hitboy, and then put out a song with the same melody of a hit record without paying any extra clearance?
Interesting, time to go 'digging' for a hit

rza used straight loops on 36 chambers

exactly what I was thinking just listen here... but the thing is I understand both sides of this shyt.. RZA found that loop and used it while breh who made NIP used something somebody else said he could loop, practiclly did all his work for him.. according to the old school rules he´s bullshytting but according to the capitalistic hit searching atmosphere of today he won.. soooo :yeshrug:

Max Martin did the same shyt in the late 90's with those britney & backstreet records but no one EVER talks about that :sas2:

Someone uploaded a CD of the loops they used and shyt is completely fukking stock.:russ:

Bit of extra sheen and boom, there's a platinum hit.

The funny part about this, is that people act like stock shyt somehow makes people frauds..... but the reality is that if it was so easy to do, they'd be doing it and hanging out with all these rappers and getting deals.

Exactly... like how retarded are you to admit someone made millions off some free shyt YOU HAVE... :heh:

Yeah
it was actually from TNGHT (Lunice and Hudson Mohawke)

http://respect-mag.com/keeping-it-one-hunne-with-tnght-lunice-sets-his-sights-on-the-states/

Hip-hop producers, on the other hand, have already shown signs of TNGHT’s influence. “It’s almost not even worth talking about unless it’s a complete, straight A-to-Z bite,” says Lunice. “Hit-Boy got on some ****, heard **** from me and HudMo, and [made] something that sounds sort of similar. We ain’t gonna complain, ‘cause it’s only three notes. We take it as a compliment.”

and there was in interview with lunice of tnght explaining how at their shows they used to play an unreleased beat that was basically nikkas in paris before it was nikkas in paris, and one day randomly hearing the WTT song and being like wait what :wtf: it's basically deleted off the face of the internets now tho

But it's no love lost. They were in the same camp at the time, but Hit has since moved over to Universal with his HS87 movement
I like how everyone is ignoring this :shaq:

just because he "made a hit of it" (which he didn't, he gave it to superstar artists and they made it a hit) doesn't mean that it was his superior talent or even his vision that made it a great beat. you guys acting like it's an impossible task to add drums on top of loops like that are crazy. the biggest difference between him and the 1000 other guys who have (or could) do the same thing as he did, is that he's hitboy. he had a name, he had connects, he had access to kanye fukking west...stuff the 1000 other guys don't have. there's a million dope producers out there doing incredible work but you don't about them for the same reason...they're still nobodies.

not hating on the guy for it. but let's be real.

The Land of The North
(Was Coli searching threads on Producing to find some new tutorials and whatnot. Found this thread. Figured I'd give my thoughts on the matter. Plus I'm an HS87 Stan. So here we go.)

I heard Hitboy post or lurks here

Oh, word? I wonder who he could be. :sas2:

:heh:

Exactly. Sure, he didn't come up with the melody himself. But you still thought the beat was hot right? So it doesn't matter. Jay Z and Kanye thought it was hot enough. And that was enough for him. That same beat got him signed to GOOD, where he made Clique and Cold (which ALSO were hot and was played everywhere) and now he's on Interscope with HS87. All off that sample pack. So the fact is.. nikkas lost.

...Plus, he had originally sent it to other rappers including Pusha, and he didn't want it. So had Pusha taken the beat, it wouldn't have made the impact that it did. When you get the right people on the right beat, you get a hit. That's what happened here. :yeshrug:
:russ:

also may i add to this thread that bit boy is one of those guys that makes beats everyday so it could off been something like him making beats and playing around with shyt then kept those beats in the stash untill he sent them out and they got picked :manny:

Actually, I think it was the interview he did on Sway that he said Cold, NIP and Clique were actually older beats he made a while ago. He was making radio hits from when he was still in his bedroom, from what he was saying, so it seems like when opportunity knocked, he went back to some of his older shyt, cleaned it up and sent it off. So those beats could've very well been made during the point in time he wasn't as nice. And if that's the case, then it's even more justified cause he probably didn't think that beat would ever get used either.

he used a fukkin loop....big fukkin deal....his drums...and his mixing were all his own....go recreate that beat 100%...i'll wait...mix and everything...

some of teh greatest beats were simple loops....u don't need a fukkin orchestra to create crack...

fukkin somewhereinamerica off the last hov album was a simple loop...but dope as fukk

Which ironically, was also done by the same dude. :pachaha:Plus, if anyone really feels like Hit-Boy can't really do work, it sounded like chopped up the same loop up and added some effects to it and did this:

Which is arguably a much better beat than nikkas In Paris.
