Its not really an exposal, but it is definitely a change in the underlying code of beat making. Was a time when sample based producers strived to rock a loop that no one could even figure out where they got the source material from. In fact was a time beatmaker code said it was less authentic to pull ur drum loops from a drum loop record instead of pulling the loop from the original release. Now I might personally find that way of thinking snobbish, but its definitely a change from the code of hip hop sampling.

So I wouldn't say taking loops from sample libraries is weak, but let's not act like there has never been a context in hip hop where that kinda thing was frowned on.

hint:EVERY producer, terrible or great, uses premade sounds. They may not only use premade sounds, but almost all of us use presets/loops/samples. But its about how you use them. Effects and envelopes an all this other shyt changes cheap premade sounds into quality sounds.

In summary theres absolutely nothing wrong with this and if you think there is you dont really understand the point of music

So do i :manny:

You can always mix and match. but unless you use the entire kit, you have to be creative with the loop you chose to use. Of course that is if you wanna be original and somehow do soemthing different.
co-sign this...and Todd is one of the dopest producers on here :salute: I personally have used parts of construction kits and it's basically the same concept as sampling. I have songs where I probably took parts from 20 different kits and mashed them up. You still have to have an ear and some musical talent to come out with a dope TRACK that doesn't sound like a straight up LOOP. I can post up examples and dare the average cat to duplicate them even if I gave him the kits :manny:
*edit...also most of the time the drums in those kits are just :scusthov: so you better be able to put in work on the pads

What you're saying is true but that nikkaz in Paris and the Cold beat is the same beat, that shyt ain't no switch up or nothing that's the point

He flipped a loop....ir you uneerstand how to create music or understand exactly what he dud to make these joints and how much work he had to still put into using a loop....shut the fukk up

I hate nikkas who dont have an ounce of creativity in their thumbs that try to speak on making music and critiquing a persons creative approach

he didn't have to do shyt to "create" anything. thats a straight jack move.

he used a fukkin loop....big fukkin deal....his drums...and his mixing were all his own....go recreate that beat 100%...i'll wait...mix and everything...

some of teh greatest beats were simple loops....u don't need a fukkin orchestra to create crack...

fukkin somewhereinamerica off the last hov album was a simple loop...but dope as fukk

lmao wtf I wanna go download premade tracks for and put drums over them.
And yes I do make beats for fun (as well as other creative arts) and have been since i was 14 (I'm 26 now). I never got into jacking loops sorry.

jacking loops? u know what those drums/loop kits are right? so you're cool with premo finding a 70's jazz record an looping 2 secs of it to make a beat instead?

it was actually from TNGHT (Lunice and Hudson Mohawke)

http://respect-mag.com/keeping-it-one-hunne-with-tnght-lunice-sets-his-sights-on-the-states/

Hip-hop producers, on the other hand, have already shown signs of TNGHT’s influence. “It’s almost not even worth talking about unless it’s a complete, straight A-to-Z bite,” says Lunice. “Hit-Boy got on some ****, heard **** from me and HudMo, and [made] something that sounds sort of similar. We ain’t gonna complain, ‘cause it’s only three notes. We take it as a compliment.”

and there was in interview with lunice of tnght explaining how at their shows they used to play an unreleased beat that was basically nikkas in paris before it was nikkas in paris, and one day randomly hearing the WTT song and being like wait what :wtf: it's basically deleted off the face of the internets now tho

But it's no love lost. They were in the same camp at the time, but Hit has since moved over to Universal with his HS87 movement
