They've said they were expanding Midgar countless times. We have pictures of the game's box that tells us the game's size (100GB), not to mention that it's shipping on two discs, on top of the side quests and new story changes/fleshing out... And people STILL think Square is going to give only 20 hours or so of content. There's a difference between cautious skepticism and outright ridiculousness.

If Square had shipped it out on all three discs, but they cut corners on everything, people would've burned down the Square Enix offices. If Square had waited 10+ years for some massive 7+ disc experience and put it out, people would've cried about the radio silence (and people DID exactly this until the State of Play trailer)... And then when they find out the game wouldn't be $60 for all those discs, they'd burn down the Square Enix offices. And if Square had never decided to make a FF7 Remake... Fans would still be making online petitions and bugging developers and directors to this day to make the game... and then burn down the Square Enix offices once all the old guard retires.

You just can't win. Luckily 99% of the fan base loves it, everything is faithful to the original, and that's what counts. There's always room for improvement and it's impossible to make everyone happy because everyone has different opinions on how things should be, but at this point? Maybe the Remake just isn't for you. There's always the original PS1 games and its numerous HD ports to enjoy.

I wasn't really feeling the combat. Controlling Barret was a pain in the ass in the middle of a battle and the camera was all over the place, especially with those flying sentries or the ones mounted high that only Barret can hit. Maybe you get used to it in the full game after playing for a while.. :patrice:

i gotta get used to the technicalites of commanding my team, switching out, and dodging enemy attacks. I killed the boss in one try but i barely made it
I didnt notice Barret had cure abilites
Cloud died and had no phoneix downs left

Yeah I didn’t even know I had a PD but Cloud died and I didn’t know he could be recovered.

I lost the boss fight, but I struggled with the switching and only using health when the ATB bar was full.

I’m going to give it another shot today and see how I get on

Off first impressions this is a great demo. I'll have to learn when to switch between party members better especially when they add a 3rd to the mix. Didn't even give any party commands but I imagine those make combat and healing a lot more fluid. I barely made it across the line against the boss and got lucky with a 2nd limit break. I didn't really know when to parry Guard Scorpion in punisher mode since it attacked from every angle.

The visuals and the music are crazy. Don't have too much of a problem with Barrett because he's supposed to be over the top. A black dude voices him :yeshrug:

The ONLY theme i've heard that they actually fucced up is the Turks theme. The original SHYTS on the new one. Everything else is C R A C K. The new Tifa's and Aeriths themes have a nicca in his feelings :to:

If you were 16yrs old when this thread started

You are now 21

Furthermore.. Anyone who was 16 -21 when the original was released

could potentially be a grandfather
By the time this entire remake drops..

:flabbynsick: The world has changed and this game still isn't out yet

:russ: Breh, I was just thinkin about where I was in life when this was first rumored:

In college with a nice rotation of girls, living the dream :ahh:. Now I'm in a committed relationship like every other simp :mjcry:.

Time flies.

Once I got to the scorpion battle I started to get the hang of the combat system. I was switching and using the right abilities and spells and switching back to Cloud to build up that stagger. I love that battle system it feels like a real time FFXIII+FFXV but grounded. I think it was done well and I liked the punisher mode swap. I can't wait to try out Tifa and the others.

Graphics were pretty good too but I seriously wish I could play this in 4k/60fps because it'd look even better. The one thing I wasn't feeling was strangely the audio mix? I felt like the music was missing an "oomph" and the voices were too low. I could barely hear the characters talking in some scenes. The sound effects in combat were too low also but maybe that's just me. All in all I loved it. It doesn't feel exactly like a 1:1 remake as there's a lot of little things that's changed.
