Did you know he gives up 51% shooting in the post
Is this a stat that people are expected know for all players in the league?

What kind of question is this?

Do you know what percentage shooting Darren Collison gives up at the top of the key?

Post defense is kinda important for a big man I think. Just asking if you're aware of his weaknesses, very few are aware of that about Whiteside.

nikkas up in here:sadbron: y'all hate draymond:mjcry: Maybe just maybe kawhi is a great defender and well deserving winner:ohhh: obviously the voters feel that way:ld:

Exactly. Crazy thing is that I like Draymond, have no issue with him, but I hate how they have to try and discredit Kawhi while pumpin up Draymond

No.

You wrote all that for nothing.

Kawhi
Whiteside
Green

Best defensive players in that order:stopitslime:

Can you explain why Kawhi and especially Whiteside are better defenders than Green? I'm all for arguments but just ranking 1. 2. 3. offers nothing to the discussion
shyt blows my mind when teams try to post up Draymond:wow:

Dude is a hell of post defender.

Same. Lot of teams try to attack him in the post because they think its a mismatch of some sort.

Its not. D Mo, a guy who graded as an elite post up player last season, learned that the hard way in the past two games.

The right man won the award the last two years.

Deal with it

Eh, I disagree I think Green should have gotten DPOY in both seasons. Expressed why I thought so but I definitely didn't write that to change history or discredit Leonard. That piece is more about how great has been defensively this year.

What draymond does is impressive and dude is a great defender no doubt. But I ask this cause I genuinely want to know.
Does he get put on an island on the oppositions best player all game? I ask cause I know he switches a lot and is great in those situations but was he guarding KD all game or Serge Ibaka? Know what Im saying

He will never be assigned to a single player over the course of a game. Will generally be roaming going from one man to another all in one possession because of his responsibilities as a help defender. There was a possession in that Feb 26 OKC game where he helps on KD clearly baiting him to pass an open Kyle Singler. He passes, Green reacts seemingly before the ball even leaves KD's hands, forces a strip on Singler.

Another where he was "manned" to Ibaka, sees Russell Westbrook trying to eurostep his way into the paint and blocks his shot

Another where he was manned with Durant who passes to Ibaka, and Green sneaks in for the steal

Rather than being assigned to a single player, he's essentially responsible for guarding an entire team over the course of a game. That's not to say that you can put him out there by himself obviously but he is the living embodiment the phrase "everywhere at once" when speaking to defensive versatility in basketball.

This is why the Warriors defense goes from one of the best defenses to rock bottom without him on the floor. They have no one else who can come remotely close to fulfilling this role for them.

So they're wrong just because they didn't pick who you liked:rudy:
I like Kawhi too.

Who I like/don't like doesn't hold any weight in this argument - which seems to be the inherent problem here (it seems to be the the problem in just about very discussion). Far too many people are dismissing the OP and Draymond's case for DPOY because they don't like him, when if you looked at this with an objective eye and valued the content in the OP accordingly you'd see why myself and others think he deserved to win.

It's less about discrediting Kawhi and trying to show who actually had the most defensive impact this season.

I mean he's a strong candidate but y'all green supporters is doing the exact same thing to kawhi that y'all complaining about. You can't really go wrong either way but some posters not necessarily you act like kawhi is some undeserving scrub. He was the best wing defender in a wing oriented league.

Draymond got some top 10 dead or alive best steals/strips I've ever seen....

But I'll never forget he got away with a Street fighter move vs Boston
