Fillon finished the upset over the weekend.
From what I've read he's pro-EU but his domestic policy is very conservative both socially and fiscally.
Le Pen v. Fillon will come down to how bad the country wants an EU referendum...
Nah, they hardly talked about Europe during the primary campaign. It's a non-issue now in France, we know what are the positions and Fillon, if he has a pro-EU stance (I didn't notice) will adapt it in line with more nationalistic views.
But no one is talking about Europe these days, it's all about "values", "civilization", "traditions", all that right-wing bs.
After spending a week in France, the only thing I can tell you is that in my life I have never seen a political party more hated then PS

, you would think they were the Nazis the way people talked about them.
The thing is that well everyone knows people from the right hate because what else are they gonna do, but PS managed to get hated by people on the left too. PS is basically center-right now, and has probably been the biggest disappointment in modern France for the left. The biggest "accomplishment" under Hollande is probably the gay marriage thing, which most people on the Left will say "Yeah, that's good" but they don't really care about it like that either. ALL the rest (economy, education, security, anti-racism, rules of democracy, etc etc) either they didn't do what they said they would, or they basically did some soft-right policies.
So there's no reason for anyone on the Left to appreciate them either.
