Refs miss calls everyday B. If this was an ignored holding call or roughing the passer I don't think people would be protesting. Why do we care so much about this obscure rule? Cuz it looks/feels "controversial"?

Refs suck, but the game ended how it was supposed to. Detroit wasn't robbed of anything so I do not care

Anytime you see a fumble in the endzone, you see the effects of the rule. Guys never try to bat the ball out, they try to fall on it, which is why the play looked odd in real time. That's a result of the rule. Not obscure at all.

Thats cuz most people would rather have the safety than the theoretical touchback. Doesn't mean everyone is aware of the rule.

Its obscure becuz the rule only applies to INTENTIONALLY batting the ball. If the ball goes out of bounds in a scramble/fight for the ball then its still a touchback and ball goes to Seattle. If Wright had tried to make it look like an accident, then there would no controversy today. Nothing to see here...

Man the fail Mary wasn't even the only game the scab referees caused to have a different outcome. They cost the Ravens a game against Philly too. Those guys were fired by the lingerie league on grounds of incompetence. Seattle just happened to be there.
