Nah it wasn't. I think I was into wu tang and mase/bad boy family at that time.

Ain't future like 32? Of course he knows what happened In 98.
He was 12 when RD dropped. I wouldn't expect a 12 year old to be up on that album. He's talking about Illmatic but he was ten.

Wasn't no one propping up RD when it dropped in Bama, MS, or GA from my memory.
Future is right.

Your experience =/= reality. The vast majority of people in this thread heard Future and :manny: "he's right". So should we listen to the majority, or you?I heard the album in 1996 too but I'm not gonna sit here like it was widely known or talked about because my circle had it. I had Volume 10's debut album too, it don't really mean much.

And I'm not comparing anything, I'll telling you what happened. If a discussion occurred....and people were talking about BONE, Wu, Outkast, Nas, Pac, BIG....Jay? People would be like "who is Jay-Z?"
You can give reasons for that like "well, he didn't have the backing of those other guys" but the end result is still the same.

Fred.

and your experience =/= my reality, so what the fukk you saying?...i didnt say yall had to agree with me, i stated my opinion on what future said...yall quoted me cause i didnt agree with what yall were saying, and then tried to prove my opinion wrong with made up bullshyt...i say made up cause all future said was 'it wasnt hot'....it was others, like you, that added all the other shyt like impact, mark, low sales, classic, etc. to try to make a point instead of just going off what was said...if they were saying it wasnt hot cause of those reasons, i've said cool, cause that's their opinion, but that doesnt mean it's gonna change mine...cause i dont use those shyts to determine if something is hot...

you are comparing them, and it's a slanted comparison....you comparing a debut artist's cd (RD) to artists that had already been in the game with a cd(s), and then saying 'well, he wasnt talked about like them'....no shyt lol...that doesnt change that he was getting talked about....

Has nothing to do with age or ''You had to be there to witness it'' type situations.

It's a simple matter of music history if you study and ''Research'' it
it answers it's self....Biggest problem with situations like this is Jay-z stans
have a hard time accepting the fact of any part of Jay's career when he isn't viewed
as the top dog so they'll cook up ducktales or re-write his career.

I myself was young when RD dropped and I remember nobody wasn't bumpin
Jay-z's music hard body until 98 - 2001

I was more so just saying that I personally can't even argue with Future if I wanted to

I was born in 1993 and in California at that, so I definitely can't tell you what people were fukkin with at the time RD dropped.

shyt if we're being honest, Reasonable Doubt is like the 5th Jay-Z album I even heard in its entirety. Blueprint 2 and the black album were first..

Didn't hear Reasonable Doubt until around 05/06 once I learned how to download albums illegally...

Shout out to rapidshare, megaupload and winrar for keepin my computer putin

Pac and big dying was the best thing for his career. Pac was already trying to tuck his career in before it even started.

Ya'll see why a breh like Future is ahead of the game tho :manny:

He said in about a hundred interviews he study the game like its a class. He studied the Beatles to make his hooks. He studied Pac and Jay for his bars :manny:

This is his words not mine.

Yep believe it or not. Future knows what he's talking about. He's been a student of the game. Rico Wade instilled it in him
