The only thing that I can think of is that Sony allows more of a coding to the metal than Microsoft does. However, one company is a hardware rooted company that sells some software and one is a software rooted company that sells some hardware. Not to mention, this isn't just any software company, it's the world's preeminent software company. I have no doubt that Sony has put together some good stuff but unless you are Apple, Amazon or Google, companies with real money to create a comparable competitor in development tools. It's all subjective. It's good PR.

they've revealed the controller, and the specs of the system, and are about to have a reveal event, I don't know why revealing the price after all that is a foreign concept. after this event it's it's like 5 months off from launch.

It was revealed whenever e3 happened, but this isnt a e3 level event.

Both companies have said that covid19 hasn't affected their plans for launching next generation. I expect console shortages, not a expensive price point.
