Hard to argue the winner, but Chrono Trigger lost to KOTOR? BS!Last of Us 1 and Red Dead 2 are way too overrated.
Last of Us was great but the story was the most unique thing about it. Gameplay was good not revolutionary.
Red Dead 2 is just an overly complicated cowboy simulator. Just a chore of a game.

Last of Us 2 can be placed in a top ten discussion ironically because of story decisions people omit it from the discussion. And RDR2 deserves every bit of praise, that game is a masterpiece and is probably the most immersive game ever created. People are still discovering new things in the game six years later.

lol red dead 2 is not even better than the first game as far as flow and direction. Very overrated!!
RDR 2 was boring. Didn’t bother finishing it.

Irregardless of what games were excluded or shouldn't be included, they got the winner right. If they replaced OOT with Breath of the Wild, I wouldn't argue that either.

A lot of y'all are naming a lot of things, but OOT is probably the game that fits best overall for greatest game of all time.
Games like metal gear solid, Street fighter 2, Madden and halo while massive in their respective genres don't have the overall reach and combined influence that OOT does.
Overall Zelda and mario as a series are the only series that are more popular and improved from 20 plus years ago until now.
