This is fire to me, I like the beat and concept--paying homage to the original and to the era that inspired it simultanously :wow:

Obviously GFK's voice is not the same as it once was, but he sounds great on here, energized and the flow is dynamic, especially on the 2nd verse.

EDIT: also I have always been a fan of Scram Jones, he gave Rae and Tragedy some crazy fire beats over the years. If he's heavily involved I'll be happy

Slick got heavy promotion especially overseas. Rae was on tour but that was no excuse for not doing any promo

Rae did promo but it was barest of bones promo. He did the IG LIVE, we got the Bear Hill video, but it was a tame promo run especially compared to Slick Rick, who for a 60 year old returning after a TWENTY FIVE YEAR absence, had a damn near flawless marketing campaign.

I wanna see Ghost do some interviews, talk about why he felt the time was now to release Part 2 after teasing it for so many years, talk about which producers he chose to work with and why. Drop some fire music videos, Ghost should have the same interview run that Clipse got. It costs nothing to sit down with Breakfast Club, Joe Budden, A Million Dollars Worth Of Game, etc.

Truth.

That way, you don’t get the comparisons and disappoint the people. I've never been a fan of the sequels thing, lol.

Then we never would have gotten Cuban Linx 2, the Kings Disease series, Alfredo 2, etc.

Sequels can be dope if the artist puts thought, time and care into the work. Even a lesser heralded sequel like Doe or Die 2 or a more experimental sequel like Man on The Moon 2: Legend of Mr Rager were really good albums.

💯... You gotta forgive some of these dudes. They got use to drum less Nicholas Craven beats and stuff like that.

fukk a concept it's about the execution. The two don't mesh to me. I don't like how it sounds. Could've filtered one while the other played so they're not stacked on each other.

I want to hear something new and the first thing you drop is a classic beat with a beat from one of your old songs on top of it. Nah, I'm not feeling it.

I feel you but sequels give you expectations that can’t be met most of the time. It only really works when the albums drop back to back or close to it. nikkas be trying to take the easy route and make a sequel as a cheap marketing tool decades later
:heh:

Raekwon one of the only exceptions
