Yeah I was like shaking my head the whole time listening to SC2 and just sad to hear the inconsistency in his voice and then the cheap vintage beats and the typical go to samples

Lionel Richie’s Zoom? And it’s not even chopped and sampled to make something new out of it? Lionel’s vocals sing half his verse in the background lmao

Facts, these brothers (Ghost and Rae) need to stop being so frugal with the production and get some quality beats

Yeah, the sequencing is off too. You can tell he just threw this shyt together

nikkas gotta stop with the sequels now, because they can never recapture the magic of the original the first time around and especially when it’s 20 plus years later

Oh before I forget; I meant to tag you in here

Yall crying about needing supreme clientele styles and get the holla / wise treatment and still upset lol

Windows and Metaphysics. That's it.

Breakbeat one …

Just like the grain / milk crates

If he named this anything other than SC 2 I think this would've been considered a nice return to form. A solid good album from a legend. But you slap the Supreme Clientele label on it and you're adjusting expectations. Personally, never thought this album had a chance of being even 50% as good as the OG. You can't be making bad music for over a decade and just flip a switch and get back to making heat again. That ship done sailed. So my expectations were low and honestly I think it's solid.

It's just a little too thrown together. The older songs stick out and most of them feel unfinished but despite that they still feel a level above the other shyt. Even the use of classic breaks and shyt, which is in the spirit of the original album, feels more on the nose and forced this time. Bro literally has a song called Break Beats....c'mon Starks :comeon:

Is that Nas feature produced by Hitboy? It's got his bland stink all over it :hhh:

All in all though it's..........fine. Not even Big Doe Rehab level but better than them weedplates he's been throwing out in auto-pilot for the last decade.
all of this, great post minus the hitboy knock

look this album is good to me his best album for a while , but he did a real diservice calling in SC2. And if your dropping records that are 20 years old it really just becomes a completion.

shoulda called it the pretty tony pt 2....this shyt everywhere as far as a sonic landscape goes. Some songs i fukk wit some i dont. Some Ghost voice sounds great others sound like he was going through some sinus issues. I fukk wit like 6 tracks tuff the rest are mid. The main issue once again is PRODUCTION. How is Westside Gunn able to aquire a production sound that sounds like a classic updated wu with a looooooong list of producers yet ghost cant reach out. Hes fine staying in house and im not talking wu in house (tru master, 4th, bronze etc) but these mid underground white producers. I dont get it. I just witnessed conductor williams LACE a rome streetz......Theres really no excuse for it. Especially when u let it out ya mouth alchemist been begging to work with you. Im not ready to rate this album yet tho these are just my initial thoughts and frustrations.
totally agree with all of this

Callm down bruh
Calm down?

Im just pointing out the clear lack of wisdom and understanding of your post.

Going off how an album aint it, how the styles aint updated, and picking the ONE song on record that uses those styles you wanted…only to complain about the style being used…

Is funny.

The watcy. Holla. WISE. Full song. Rapping over vocals and all.

Yall havent liked a ghostface album in 15 years talking about what ya hoping for supreme clientele 2 lol. Its hilarious.

Just finished my second listen

This album is more akin to a Fishscale Part 3 or Pretty Tony Part 2 than a Supreme Clientele sequel. This is a heavy storytelling type of album not the kinetic, nonsensical-yet-dope, stream of conscious type of work that Supreme Clientele OG was.

Its still Ghost’s best work since Big Doe Rehab, I have no issues with the production whatsoever, the most jarring thing is Ghost’s voice from track to track. Its a blessing that artists like Method Man and Nas still sound fresh and their voices extremely similar to when they debuted.

Even with his voice not being the same, Ghost is still a top tier level storyteller, which is why he’s in my top 5. I’ll be bumping this along with Rae’s album, Clipse and Alfredo 2. I’m glad I got the Vinyl and supported financially. None of the Legend Has It series so far has been a waste of my money.

I’ll also say the skits on here are mucccch better than the ones on Rae’s album. Pause had me laughing my ass off.
most of this I semi agree with but the production part, needs to be LEVELS better than this for SC2. come on bro.

westside gunnn and freddie getting way better production for this sound than this, its just gotta be better, ghost a top 5-6 all time for me but if you name a album SC2 its gotta be better

this is still a good album!

This is garbage :scust:

To take a bunch of old, unreleased, unfinished songs and release them as an album named SC2 is basically a scam. He knows this is low effort music. It's basically a "keep the lights on" album. Slap something together and make a little money off these white people in Europe dressed in Wu Tang t-shirts.

Miss me with the "be happy a legend is still putting out music" BS. Why should I respect this when he clearly doesn't respect his audience?

Gunn could've gotten him right. Alchemist could've done the same. You have two people who are behind some of the best produced hip hop over the last 5+ years doing a sound that's perfect for you but you refuse their services. That's because working with them means there's a standard you have to meet. They're going to make you work hard but some of these vets just want to phone it in. It has nothing to do with a budget and paying for the production. They don't want to put in the work. These random producers don't have the cache to tell them to rewrite a verse because it's not good enough.

He's washed. Pen isn't there and his voice is cooked. He should hang it up.
theres some truth to this post, but I dont think this is a weedplate, theres joints on here its good album

You do this every time someone doesn’t like anything Wu tang related :russ:

That’s nice if you like the album

I don’t
