New Ghostface album is solid, like 3.5 out of 5, but it isn't worthy of the title "Supreme Clientele 2." But if he had titled it something else, folks probably wouldn't have checked it out. I've only heard it once, but I don't think I like it as much as "Fishscale", "Apollo Kids", "12 Reasons to Die" or "36 Seasons." (I'm not even bothering to compare it to classic Wu stuff).
Nah it's bloated and the lead single was ass

The Alchemist has never won a Grammy. He’s been nominated twice but has no wins
He has Grammys for a few songs. Paak. Kdot. Maybe a couple others. No full albums that he’s produced.

But that wasn’t really dude’s point. He was just getting that sample heavy hiphop is often critically acclaimed at the moment. It wasn’t really about literally winning Grammys or not.

Can't say anything original that hasn't been said already.

I LIKE the project, alot even, for my #5/6 GOAT. However, calling it SCII is BS.

- Unlike Raekwon, Ghost voice/flow/lyrics are not consistent. You can hear which decade Ghost recorded these songs in the moment he starts talking.
- Unlike Cuban Linx II, the sound is not cohesive at all. There was no Rza to clean it up and it shows. From beats to vocals to sequencing.
- Unlike SCII, there is 0 attempt at any theme or purpose behind the collection of songs. Even when SCII went off the rails, it had a purpose.
- Unlike SCII, this is not a Wu album. It starts with damn Redman and has more non-Wu features than Wu. Loved hearing Gza again but definitely not enough Raekwon on this. And calling it SCII without having the Rza on it is bullshyt, even Rae went and got the Abbot for Cuban Linx II.

I can go on, but y'all already know.

Facts. That's the thing right there.

People love crying about clearance. But it's not that they can't get sh*t cleared. They don’t want to PAY for sh*t to get cleared.

That's a whole income for older artists from back in the day. They'll work with you. But a lot of MC's just don’t think it's worth paying for. And for a lot of them, their music suffers because of it.
The right old scoop artists will let you sample them for free. You gotta do the homework though.

Ghost is in my top 5 ever but this shyt is trash. Boring samples. Horrible mixing. shyt sounds like it was recorded in a broom closet. All the sounds in the beats feel like they're competing with eachother. Like that "Curtis may" track. It's actually a dope sample, but the keys are so drowned out by that loud ass cymbal hit. That shyt is jarring as fukk and literally hurts the ears. There's no excuse for this. They coulda found some no name engineer off YouTube and gave him pennies to clean this shyt up.

I'm not sure realistically RZA involvement is a positive at this point in time, sounds good on paper but what's the last dope beat RZA made? shyt, when's the last time he even made a hip hop track? Maybe shyts flying under my radar but last time I went to his spotify discography to see what hes been up to 8 went back 5 years and it was all movie score stuff
This is from 2023, not bad.

Please, for the love of Allah do not do an Ironman 2 album. To hard to live up to expectations just like they did with SC2.

This is like the movie Godfather 3 to me, if it was a standalone album or movie , it would be better received. But you can’t just throw a “2” next to a full blown hiphop album and not expect it to be fully dissected to every rhyme and beat.

The album was cool, nothing crazy. I had high high hopes, so kinda disappointed. Definitely will not be a AOTY top anything.

I would say 3.5 mics after 3 listens.

Legends has it campaign releases have been nothing spectacular yet. All 3 good, but nothing crazy. I expect de la, mobb and obviously nas to be bangers.

I have zero expectations for that record and even less now that I have to wonder if its gonna be a bunch 9f the unreleased leftovers they've done over the years with a couple new tracks tacked on, personally I'm anticipating KD4 more than the Premo one tbh

Edit - but I recognize what a Premo/Nas album means to a certain demographic of Nas fans so for that segment of the populace I hope its everything they hope it is

I agree with what you're saying.

Ultimately I don't think alot of older artists in any genre release majorly successful albums.

Past 45 years old.

Aerosmith
Billy Joel
Bob Dylan did

But who else?

I know that Funk band War did a huge show in LA recently and the lead singer is 76.

This is something new for Hip Hop and honestly Mass Appeal is doing a good, first time AND historical job here.

How nikkas felt about Wayne's new Carter album is how I feel about this album :scust:

The Pretty Tony Album is WAY is better than this shyt don't even mention SC1

Rae's shyt was at least mostly solid

1993-2007 Ghostface (the emcee) is dead brehs

I'm not trying to hear a washed up ghost rambling mid shyt over mc lyte beats

2.5/10, would not listen again shyts don't even flow like an album sounds like a compilation/mixtape
