you got it backwards. supreme clientele had a lot of "noname" producers. But you had rza choosing, remixing and putting together these beats, adding stuff and make a cohesive album.
The problem with sc2 is not the lack of big name producers, its the lack of any direction or cohesiveness or effort tbh.
Turns out Shawn Wigs is not as good as an executive producer as RZA, who would've thought.
Yeah, the names of the producers don't matter that much. There are lots of fire no name producers. I think it's just the fact that it's super obvious these are just songs that got out together, and it doesn't feel like it's an album to me.

I've got it at a solid 3.5 on day 2. It's my favorite Ghost release in a few projects of his, for sure. I think Ghost sounds great, but it's just the production for me. it feels kind of bland. A lot of break beats.

There's some bangers on here though.

Does your opinion of the album change if it's called Lost Tapes 2007-2009 and not Supreme Clientelle 2? Mine did halfway through when I found that out, I restarted it listened again knowing that it was just a collection of unreleased tracks and could.appreciate the records more but when I was expecting SC2 I was diassapinted in what I was hearing. I dunno, I think he shot himself in the foot calling it SC2
Yeah that’s exactly how I felt! And knowing how many dope records he has stashed away. This felt like a Ghostface Enterprises Presents. Maybe I’m in the minority but Rae’s album was better and Rae did justice to OB4CL2

I don't like the first two songs, and Curtis May kinda lackluster until Conway's verse...but from 4th Disciple until You Ma Friend is fire(not the biggest fan of the two singles either)

Definitely a solid album though, with the right direction I'm certain Ghost got another fire album in him

My biggest critique of Raekwons album is to me a lot of the beats sounded generic, not wack even, just cookie cutter, he was sharp as ever lyrically tho, in the couple articles I read and one video interview Ghost said he literally has 100s of records in the tuck and that hes actually planning to drop a bunch more stuff not long after SC2, but yeah this def feels like more of a compilation than a cohesive album

Finally got a chance to listen and I enjoyed this. I agree he shoulda named this something else and its does have a compilation feel but it’s still an entertaining listen and that’s what ghost provides no matter what.
