SINY!!
"The Forest" still makes me :laff:

Ghostface storytelling skills are A1, right up with Slick Rick and Nas.

Him and Alchemist could literally make an entire 10-12 track album just off The Forest. A concept album......Ghostface telling even more vivid stories about cartoon characters....Alchemist using old school 70s/80s Saturday Morning cartoon themes as samples......

One of the best storytelling albums of all time. I still feel like. 16 year old when I listen to this album and it hasn’t aged a bit. I loved the og and retail. You could make movies off these tracks.

There is no official "OG version" of Bulletproof Wallets that ever leaked. It's all been pieced together by fans from leaked album advances, white label vinyl singles & mixtapes. All songs that seemed to be intended for the album with some confirmed in the incorrect liner notes of the album, some alternate versions on the advance & some recorded during the time of those sessions and assumed to be meant for BW.

songs missing from the retail:
The Sun
The Watch
Good Times
Thin Ice skit/ Figure 8 skit (different than the track Ice/Ice Interlude)

alternate versions than the retail:
Flowers original version
The Forest original version

confusion:

The album advance had a different version of The Juks, but it just had an instrumental where Ghost's verse would eventually go. Everything else was identical to the album version.

Maxine & The Watch were on the same track on one version of the advance

There are remixes to Never Be The Same Again. None are official and were made from the single's acappella vocals:

-The one that is commonly touted as the "original version"/"demo version" is a fan made remix who took a beat that Choo the Specializt (producer of Malcolm off Supreme Clientele) said he submitted but was never used by Ghost when he shared the instrumental online. Some fan put the Never Be... vocals over that beat and it spread like music did in 2001.

-9th Wonder's remix was released on his "9th invented the remix" mixtape in 2003 & wasn't part of any BW sessions.

All facts.

Still nice to dream

Soulseek has the OG version. I just downloaded it a few days ago. Like said there was no official OG version as it was tracks that got scrapped and people were just making it with OG songs. Let me see how many tracks is on that version

There was an OG tracklist that emerged years ago and I made it and put it on CD. This was the most authentic tracklist I have ever saw. Unfortunately I threw all my CDs away over a month ago and I do not think I kept that one.

How is this different from the release version?
Added: The Sun, The Forest (OG), Flowers (OG), The Watch, Good Times
Removed: Theodore, Ghost Showers, Love Session, Street Chemistry, Teddy (Skit), Jealousy (Skit)
Why?
Bulletproof Wallets, Ghostface Killah's followup to Supreme Clientele had a really shytty history. Ghost has talked before about his annoyance at RZA for not being able to clear samples for key album tracks such as The Sun, The Watch, Good Times, and Flowers. RZA reworked Flowers' beat before the album's release, but the other tracks were left off. In addition, Ghostface was also upset at the label for improperly sequencing the album. However, through multiple promo cassettes, CDs, vinyls, and a wide variety of early tracklist sequences, we can get a pretty good idea of Ghostface Killah's original intent for the album. Bulletproof Wallets was promoted as an album "by Ghostface Killah featuring Raekwon" similarly to the marketing for their previous collaborations together Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... and Ironman. I chose to roughly base this comp off of a 10-track vinyl promo for Bulletproof Wallets as Raekwon features on a large chunk of the tracklisting. By using this as a framework, I wanted to reconstruct Bulletproof Wallets with the focus being on the collaborative efforts of Ghostface and Raekwon. In addition to the 10-tracks, I also added the additional Raekwon collaboration The Watch and reincorporated the two interludes found on the release version. Never Be the Same Again, Stairway to Heaven, Maxine, Walking Through the Darkness, Ice, The Juks, The Hilton, and Strawberry are all taken from the release version of the album. The Sun and The Watch are both taken from the Hidden Darts compilation. Flowers and Good Times were both taken from rips of promo singles since the release version of Flowers doesn’t have the original beat and the Hidden Darts version of Good Times had some extremely bad distortion. The Forest is an extended version of the release track with an extra hook. Removed both the skits as they suck ass. Removed four of the weaker songs from the release version: Street Chemistry (which wasn't on any of the pre-release tracklists), Love Session (which ended up replacing Good Times on release), Ghost Showers, and Theodore. I think that if Bulletproof Wallets hadn't had such a trouble release, the album would be regarded as a classic up there with Ironman and Supreme Clientele. I hope you enjoy my spin on it.

I dont understand why cut those tracks as they are bangers imo snd in the end made the album. Especially theodore and street chem snd ghostshowers is a fun lil song

Could also add the young black, abc and even love sessions (to replace ruff ends track) to complete the vibe.
