The west was tough when he was in his prime:dahell:. He had to face the Magic led Lakers up until 91 and by then you had the Sonics, Jazz, Spurs, Run-TMC Warriors and the Trailblazers...

Jordan had the Cavs, Old-ish Pistons teams and then The Knicks which he should've had no trouble against. You can say the Magic, but they only had shaq for what? 4 years and MJ was only around for 3 of those iirc

my only issue with this post is jordan beat the team that beat dreams team in the playoffs

1991 - the lakers swept the rockets and the bulls beat the lakers in 5
1993 - the rockets lost to the seattle, who lost to phoenix who then lost to the bulls
1996 - swept by seattle who then were down 0-3 to the bulls until jordan gambled away games 4 and 5
1997 and 1998 - lost to Utah whom the bulls beat

Hakeem abused a Diesel that was in his athletic prime circa Orlando. He also abused all those great centers I mentioned and also all the great power forwards of the 90s. People forget Hakeem was only 6'11.

Footwork 100
Jumpshot 100
Agility 100
Athleticism 100
Handle 100
Durability 100
Speed 100

Those would be Hakeems 2k numbers today.

Both all time greats. Give Timmy the edge because of his longevity and effectiveness throughout his career. Duncan anchored the best team defense during his career. Dream's offensive skill set is unmatched for a big tho. I dock him in comparison to Tim because of Dreams lack of success during his prime years. Similar to TMac in that the skill is undeniable but the results are not reflective of a top 10 all time player. Peak years are amazing and make him the most visually appealing (pause) post player of all time.

Man please the West was way tougher during Duncan's playing days and he still went to 6 NBA Finals:hhh:
Duncan has had a good team literally every year he was in the league:what:. Duncan has had several luxuries that most players let alone all-time greats aren't able to experience.

Wasn't Magic injured for most of that Finals:skip:? We're really gonna give Jordan credit for beating a team with their best player hurt:skip:. Wasn't Worthy hurt also?

The Sonics might've beat The Bulls if George Karl made the necessary adjustments after game 1...

Seattle was a bad matchup for them. Kenny Smith even said so...

The Jazz were just better...

TD is in both top 10 all time in both blocks and rebounds, matter of fact he's the only PF that's top 10 in both categories :jbhmm:

Duncan played in an era with no big men yet KG, Dirk, CWebb, Amare, Yao, Rasheed/Ben Wallace didnt exist :martin:

Hakeem had 5 straight first round playoff exits yet he's the dominant one :gucci:

It's a gang of muthafukkas with more 40 point games than Duncan :aicmon:. I guess Dominique Wilkins was more dominant than TD now :heh:
:russ: Dirk and KG are the only ones from that list that could make the Hall of Fame
When Hakeem retired he was top 10 in Rebounds, Blocks, Steals, And points.

Basketball is still a team sport. Show me the Allstars and hall of Famers Hakeem played with during those first round exits :feedme:

Spurs won 20 games the year before Tim got there :dahell:

His 2 best teammates in his career were drafted 29th and 57th in their respective drafts

I dont think the Spurs picked higher than 28th in the draft his whole career

How does that sound like a perfect situation :dwillhuh:
:comeon: they were a 59 and 60+ win team 2 seasons before that 20 win season. And they only won 20 games because David Robinson was hurt that season:camby:

:comeon: so the Rockets didn't SWEEP the Shaq and Penny's Magic in the finals. Guess who the Magic beat in the first round? Jordan's Bulls

The Passage of Time
Hakeem in his mid career was a lot of movement and or deception. He was a more athletic Kevin Mchale in the post. Duncan on Defense was very fundamentally sound, he rarely left his feet in a one on one match up. Shaq would bulldoze him creating separation and getting cheap "Star" fouls. I can see the herky jerky Hakeem versus a Verticality Duncan 7'0 versus 6'10". Hakeem would have to make a bunch of fade away jump shots.

Hakeem in mid career is what most people are citing, but that was not always Hakeem.
