Has Jim Jones Done More For Rap Than Pusha (Influence, Impact, Etc)?

Yes. I don’t even think Pusha is that much better of a rapper than Jim is. I just think Pusha’s career has been curated better than most due to his affiliations. Without the Pharell and Kanye production and connections Push is Benny the Butcher status. For example just being able to premier a diss record at a Louie Vuitton show in Paris is next level. Push didn’t obtain that opportunity on his own merit tho, he was afforded that opportunity due to his affiliation with Pharell. No knock it just is what it is.

You want to go there? What is a Jim Jones without Cam?

Like Jim is anything without his cam'ron affiliation. :skip:

Probably - in terms of pop culture indicators.

Pusha is a much better rapper and saying otherwise is being delusional.

And it's comical to speak on Pusha's affiliations driving his career seeing as Jim Jones came to be as a weed carrier for Cam'ron :stopitslime:

Everyone had help from someone getting in the game, but the point is Pusha has never done anything to eclipse Pharell. He just benefits off of his affiliation to Pharell and Kanye. Do u think there was ever an opportunity that Pusha brought to the table for Pharell that Pharell couldn’t do for his self? On the other hand someone could make the argument that Jim has eclipsed Cam in some ways. Although Cam is a legendary artist with a solid discog one could argue he’s never had a song with the impact of a “We Fligh High”. It wouldn’t be outlandish to say that Jim has brought opportunities to the table for Cam that he wasn’t able to do for his self.

No

Rappers will ask for a Pusha T verse before they will ask for Jim Jones verse back then and currently. He never had do reality shows for a check and he was always was about rapping from the beginning. Coke raps aside. Yes he has benefited some from Pharell but they are legit friends outside of music. Kanye gave Pusha life but he's not with Kanye anymore and he's still a more relevant music wise than Jim is

Outside of rap, I will say Jim is probably more respected as he stood front line for Cam for any and everything

Lil Durk started off one of his biggest songs with “I remember claiming Dipset” so I really doubt he’d prefer a Pusha T verse to Jim Jones. Jim has recent songs with Migos, Fivio Foreign, Young Bleu, Benny the Butcher, etc. so what makes Pusha T more relevant musically? Because he has an entire album produced by Pharell & Kanye? Because he’s premiering music at Pharell’s LV fashion show?

:snoop: Pusha has a classic album with clipse and lord willin is complete flames too and he actually has good solo albums. This discussion shouldn’t even exist it’s retarded lol. Besides we fly high I don’t think I fukk with any jim jones song and never have I heard anyone in real time ever thinking jim jones was a great rapper with great music. His albums all have those cheap Koch beats. The guys the definition of mid Lol

What if Pusha T had to use those same “cheap Koch beats” that u speak of instead of having 2 of the greatest producers of all time to curate his albums. Would u still believe Pusha was that much of a better artist than Jim?

Because whenever we discuss a consensus, impact is already factored into the discussion...

nikkas was brushing their hair with Dax and talking slow cuz they wanted to be Betha...

I'm sure nikkas in the Bay Area wanted to pimp cuz of too short

Scarface is Houston when a mainstream convo happens

This is what Jim is talking about..

I hear you but Think about it…Jim said, in essence, Pusha doesn’t belong on a Top 50 because he didn’t have the dudes thinking he was the coolest and didn’t have the chicks wanting him. I hear that…if you want to say that matters I won’t argue with you…influence does matter…but why is that more important when determining who’s one of the Best Rappers Ever than actually being great at rapping/music? Lol, that’s disgusting man.

Nobody necessarily wants to be like Kendrick or Cole. The hood/whoever doesn’t find them cool like that and wanna dress like them and all that. Chicks ain’t creaming themselves over them. Etc… So, according to Jim, are they not Top 50 either? Imo, they deserve their rankings on these lists even moreso than a nig who is just there because y’all thought he was madd cool/swaggy/handsome/whatever weird ish Jim is saying without saying lol. Wanting to dress like/look like somebody because they’re just so cool to you is fine…that’s influence…but does that warrant you being on a BEST RAPPER EVER list over someone who is critically acclaimed, tenured, successful…and just happens to be great at the actual Rapping/Music part?

Jim sounds like a f@git. I don’t mean that disrespectfully either tbh lol, I mean it literally…like his logic sounds like a f’n f@git/a bird bytch
