For some reason I was thinking about exactly this topic earlier today .

Most comic artists/character designers are white, and they think all black people look the same. That’s personally why I think that’s why there aren’t any lightskinned heroes.

Like how every 90s black character was the same breh at different stages of life

race is still social, black for the longest meant black american(still is), beforehand "afro" ricans have been signing themselves as white. Jamaicans didnt even check off black and put down "other"(Kamala's father)
