i mean yeah i was a kid so u right and everything but im not arguing longevity im just arguing p4p

lets talk about olajuwons tenacity defensively and offensively and duncan being kind of soft by comparison despite putting up efficient numbers. lets talk about these intangibles because i feel like thats what seperates greater players from other great players not the really stats

yes really when we are talking about pure unstoppability and capacity to take over games and put a team on your back

yall keep looking at these stats you are not realizing the pure take over ability of olajuwon at all

This. put down the stats and go by what we saw. If your coach told you to take the ball to the hole who would you rather avoid. Not only would hakeem block your shot hes gonna knock you on your ass too. If youre an opposing coach who keeps you up at night more? Shutting down duncan or dream. Its really simple when you trust your eyes and not stats. Hakeem all day

Duncans career numbers through 1111 games: 20.3 points, 11.3 rpg, 3.1 assists, 0.7 steals, 2.2 blocks

Hakeems career numbers through 1111 games: 23.1 points, 11.6 rpg, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals, 3.3 blocks

Hakeem was more efficient too

somebody tell me what duncan did better than hakeem

Imagine the defensive impact hakeem would have had in an nba that allowed zone defense

:wow:

:what::what::what::what::what::what:

Are you taking into aaccounts the eras they played in? FG% in the 80's was higher than it was in the 90's. :what:

my point was don't act like hakeem's game wasn't on point early..and what about the mid 90's, when hakeem was 34 and still beastin..meanwhile duncan at 34 was lookin :flabbynsick:

Playinf off of Ralph Sampson and he did NOT have the dream shake and other offensive games in his arsenal.

Hakeem was simply overpowering dudes back then. Duncan came in the league with that ability and extend the floor with his shot. Hakeem later developed into that.

ok so duncan had a extra move or two early on...wth does that prove in the overall results between the two?..i mean after all,MJ didn't develop his fadeaway game til later on either :yeshrug:

If Tim Duncan wasn't a PF I would argue this but since he's a PF this entire conversation is pointless. Tim Duncan by his own account has always argued that he's not a C and that alone has always bothered me for some reason. Straight up... Timmy is better

The only thing duncan did better was get drafted to a better organization.

You know what, I had Duncan ahead of Hakeem before I read through this thread, and this might actually be a first in Coli history - I've actually changed my mind because of what I read on here.

It was already close anyway, but I now have it Shaq > Hakeem > Duncan. They're all just within a hairline of each other though.
