It's a toss up to me but Duncan had a better career but slightly and I DO mean slightly, Akeem is/was the better player.

Akeem was almost a 20 and 10 player at the same age as Duncan is now (although he played close to 36 minutes a game)

Timmy had a much nicer career, and historically will be ranked ahead of Akeem, but he wasnt a better individual player. Akeem was probably better on both sides of the ball...

:laff: who are these great power forwards Duncan played against? KG and Dirk? That's nothing compared to the 90's that had Malone, Barkley and Rodman in their primes>>>>

:wtf:

dudes here legit just watch Nike commercials and sportscenter.

KG, Dirk, Sheed, CWebb, Elton Brand, Ben Wallace, and Jermaine O'Neal.

Duncan is a center stop it.

and yet he guarded the opposing team's best post player, which was often the power forward.

The stupidity in this thread:smh:. Hakeem went almost a decade with an allstar player. The years that he won, there wasn't a single player that made the allstar team. Yes Drexler was an allstar player but he was on the downside when he came to Houston which was why he didnt make the allstar team.

Hakeem was head and shoulders a better defender than Duncan. Yall do realize he is the leader in blocks. Did yall know he is number 8 in steals? There isn't even a another center in the top 50 in steals:krs:. He was a great on ball defender, a great pick and roll defender, and great at causing turnovers as (#1 blocks,#8 steals). Hakeem even had 2 quadruple double games which shows he can do it all.

Hakeem role was always primary scorer, defender, go to player in the 4th. Duncan teams always had well balanced scoring and defending. Duncan is not better than Hakeem in any aspect of the game. Hakeem was better at scoring, rebounding, defense, free throws, and shooting.

Most importantly, Hakeem was a more dominant player than Duncan. Duncan isn't a dominant player, he is just a consistent player. How can you be dominant with only 10 40 point games in your career? Hakeem had 7 40pt games in 1995 alone.

So can someone tell me what did Duncan do better than Hakeem other than play on better teams?

Props my G. :snoop: at this thread. Stop equating careers to individual athleticism/performance. I done seen nikkaz trying to argue asinine sh*t like Pierce > Kobe, Dirk > KG, and more stupid sh*t like how Brian Cardinal would run any hood just because he's in the NBA, sh*t that would get the :beli: face in any street in America. We are talking about Hakeem Olajuwon, who's had better stats, but f*ck the stats, do these nikkaz watch games? It's questionable if Duncan is even a better individual player than D Rob, yet nikkaz wanna talk about possibly of the greatest C's of all time not being as good as Tim Duncan. That's like saying dink and dunk Tom Brady is better than Marino. Y'all nikkaz is stupid man. I can't even respond to this sh*t.

Brian cardinal could go to any hood and nikkas would be like "damn he's nicer than Larry bird"

I'm STILL waiting for someone to tell me what Duncan did better than Hakeem. I've been waiting for over 5 years.

To be honest, Robinson was better at scoring, defense, and rebounds. Robinson would be unstoppable at times (ex: 71pt game) and was a DPOY. The only knock on Robinson was in the post season performance. He will be forever known for being dominated by Hakeem in the playoffs. But lets be real, Robinson never really played with any talent either.

The only thing Duncan was better than Robinson was being clutch. Duncan remain consistent the whole season while Robinson numbers may have drop slightly in the Playoffs but it was still better than or equal to Duncan's numbers

duncan is the man but hakeem is a better player imo

let hakeem have parker/ginobli/and pop for most of his career and we'll see how many rings he's end up with.

after sampson hakeem played with scrubs until the rockets finally put some decent role players around him and even then he won a ship without another all-star player.

hakeem is arguably the most most complete center in nba history

Don't ever in your life make a stupid analogy like that again. Brady is much closer to being the GOAT than Duncan is.
