It’s the quiet moments alone that get to you, you never know what anyone is going through in their quiet moments, so anyone tell me they not a1 i take that shyt serious until they are, you think about Anthony Bourdain he had a job nikkas would kill for, money, status. Travel around the world first class, had been to some countries so often he developed a rapport with some chefs in mom and pop type places. And the nikka offed himself, he left a daughter, when shyt gets bad, it’s bad, and it’s no way to see a way out sometimes

In More Religious Countries, Lower Suicide Rates

:patrice:
America's religious as hell and it's got one of the largest and growing suicide rates out of all the countries in the world.
:gucci::dwillhuh::comeon:

Keeping up with the Joneses, class Warfare, and trying to survive the rat race makes people depressed. Not to mention the widening income gap in the growing cost of living

Lets be reality. They are giving you sound advice.

What's the alternatives? Having depression become a lifestlye that cuts off your potential and repulses others? Killing yourself like buddy in the OP?

Facts
Ive been in dark places and in retrospect I wasted my fukking time and should have just ran until I couldn't breath anymore

Nah that's actually being avoidant of reality and dismissive.

Be honest black men go through so much and been told to men up isn't enough.

We got dudes in our community that are legit suffering from PTSD from being in the roughest environments ever dealing with poverty doing with friends being lost to buy with dealing with jail dealing with prison, racism, all of that.

Suicide rates for black children in black teenagers has actually been sad we going up.

I think just telling young black men to just man up isn't sound device anymore unless it's accompanied by something else that's going to help the situation
Lol the irony of you telling me im being avoidant of reality.

You never answered my very simple question. What are the alternatives?

I mean you got to just deal with it or seek some sort of professional help or medication but at the end of the day how many of us are even telling us to do that?

Exactly.

Could have just said that but the fact you didn't proves my point.

A lot of us think going to therapy or taking medication for mental illness is a weakness. So it doesn't cross people's mind to see that as a viable solution.

We're not the ones first and foremost getting treatment for our mental illnesses an emotional illness is. Its not covered by insurance... there's a lack of black mental Healthcare professionals psychiatrist and psychologist and even in areas where there are black people aren't even seeking out their help.

Oregon's got a prop on the ballot to legalize psychedelic mushroom therapy to treat bipolar/depression. A lot of war vets say it helps with PTSD. Hopefully within the next few years, the stigmas will go away and people can get the help they need without resorting to pharmaceutical antidepressants.

That's why we got places like here.

If you just haven't dealt with depression you just don't understand what it's truly like.

You can only do so much. You can change your diet you can exercise you can take in more sunlight you can take more vitamins but it's like if your mind isn't right it could creep out back from nowhere when you least expect it.

At some point you have to take responsibility for yourself

:unimpressed:

Some of the shyt I see yall dudes post on here be so pathetic
Yall make a million excuses
Yet will be in other threads clowning others :gucci:

Attention whoring is attention whoring
No matter how u spin it:unimpressed:

If u know u have a problem
Either get help
Or u don't want it

If that man felt that was the best solution for him
Ain't nobody can say shyt different

But once u have kids then
Your life is theirs
So suicide then is selfish

Mental illness is also a chemical imbalance so some can't help it

I lot of brothers are like that. I always suggest therapy. The environment and how we were raise out a lot strain and stress on us.

I believe childhood trauma is extremely overlooked as well. So many people are carrying around the baggage of how they were raised but don't know how to talk about it. I know for me, if I ever try to talk about anything that happened in my childhood, my mom practically mulls over it...and that shyt sucks, not gonna lie. R.I.P to breh, though. just goes to show you never know what someone is going through.
