I think the reason there is contempt (on both sides), is because we are using white standards to hold each other up to. A good number of us weren't raised in two parent households, so we have "learn" to be wives and husbands, yet we want a ready made spouse. It's less likely that black men will be able to be the sole provider and that's ok. It's less likely a black woman will be submissive and that's ok. We could really get along well if we customized our relationships to work based on the individuals capabilities and not societal expectations.

Being real, I don't understand how some of you bother with bitter and toxic black women. They can ruin a man whole perception of women and turn men into a male version of what they are. I think people on both sides of the argument are taking conversations that are being had on the internet by a very small but vocal audience and applying it to real life. Statistics still show that Black men/women still marry & date amongst each other at a higher rate then interracially. Also, what @Poitier has stated, it should always be considered that we still live in a system that disproportionately targets black(s) men & women so of course you'll statistically have less educated Black men in the dating pool.
At the end of the day, date/marry who you want to marry and stop looking for reasons to make other people happy. If you choose to date out, make sure you do it without throwing your brothers & sisters under the bus to make your partner's race feel comfortable i.e. don't be a c00n.
