How come white players like Jokic and Luka don’t translate to increased viewership and ratings for the NBA?

Because like others have said Luka and Jokic are white but not white American

I've said before myself if Luka Doncic was named Luke Donaldson or whatever and came up dominating through college to the NBA he'd be one of the biggest stars today, bigger than already he is for sure.

American white people are always gonna relate to their own, so they just don't relate to guys like Luka and Jokic which start at their accents.

They're not culturally American. Their accents, aesthetics, and demeanor are very much foreign. If either one of these cardboards sounded or behaved like Travis Kelce their attraction would be substantial. Now, this isn't to say their celebrity isn't great but it would be astronomical.

To reiterate what I said in the Jokic thread it's because they're Euros and White America doesn't care about them like that. Same reason why Steve Nash and Dirk were irrelevant in the 00s despite their MVPs.

America wants a Larry Bird type of cac that plays like Luka and Jokic to represent them instead.

It's the same with us. Giannis and Embiid have been dominant yet Bron, Steph, Kyrie, KD, Ja etc are the ones that get the computers puting instead.

Dirk and Nash irrelevant? Lol.

Nash was drawing in all kinds of fans. Dirk and Nash was pushed in Dallas....and then Nash was pushed big in his phoenix days.

"Is ya game mvp like Steve Nash?" --- Nelly Furtado and Timbo on the biggest pop song of the year in promiscuous girl, lol. Nash was definitely pop culture... casual basketball fans that were white brought him up like Eminem back then.

Jalen Green has a built in fanbase without ever going to college.

No young hooper under the age of 25 has a bigger female fanbase than Jalen Green.

Going to college SHOULD give you those things by default because that's a fanbase that generally roots for laundry. For example, it doesn't matter how many trash ass basketball players come from Syracuse. @Loose gonna ride out because they rep the school. Same with me and UNC or the ones who rep Duke.

Nash - it wasn't his South African/Canadian background....it was because he let his liberal political views slip through. Instantly white people took a step back

Dirk - a 7'0", laid back German that prefers sistas? Nope. Watched Dirk's whole career living in Dallas and those white girls LOVED Dirk but he wasn't checking for them like that. They never cheered for Michael Finley like that.

If Luka/Jokic were English native speaking Euros....like Scottish/Irish/English....they would definitely get more hype. Imagine some dude sounding and looking like Braveheart doing tomahawk jams. White Americans would love that shyt. Eastern Euro = old Eastern Bloc = don't truss em

White American hierarchy = white English speaking North American > English native speaking Euro > multilingual English speaking North Euro > Eastern Euro/Southern Euro

These 2 are the best white players the nba has seen since Durk.

They both are getting huge narrative and legacy pushes by white media

But how come they aren’t featured in all the Thursday and Saturday night showcase slots?

How come I don’t see all the social media clips of white boys playing like Jokic and Luka

:unimpressed:

Their games aren’t aesthetically pleasing that’s why

They're not getting the push by big companies. You don't see them in commercials or advertising. I see more Zion commercials than both Luka and Jokic combined. Companies sees Zion more viable as a spokesperson than these two Euros.
