You're bugging album isn't classic or anything but it had a few classic songs and was solid top to bottom and a good blend of Illmatic and It Was Written.

Nas is Like, Hate Me Now, NYSOM 2, Undying Love are classic Nasir songs...

You've got the highly underrated Small World, collabs with Face/DMX/Aaliyah, dropping gems on Dr. Knockboot dope fun concept record with a funky beat, a great intro with scratching and sampling of Nas records by Premo and shyt talking from Jungle.

4 Mics. Better than Vol 3, Then There Was X, Melvin Flynt, Immobilarity, Blackout, Nikka Please, Puff's album, Ja Rule's album all released in '99 but not better than Mos, The Roots and Mobb Deep just as far as East releases go.
Agree with everything you said but better than Vol 3. But Small World, NYSOM2, Favor For A Favor >>> any song on Vol 3 except Come and Get Me

Nas is Like is also better than anything on Vol. 3. :usure:

S. Carter :scusthov: worse than anything on I Am. I feel Vol 1 is a better debate. :manny:

3.5 and that's generous.

If you take I AM and NASTRADAMUS and make them a double CD that would be the worst double album ever. Way worse than streets disciple.
:aicmon:You sure about that. I know it wouldn't have all the heat like the version that would've had the bootleg songs that ended up on The Lost Tapes, but worst ever:rudy:. Still Would've been a pretty good double album.

this was THEE album out of all the spring releases that year.

sure it was spotty, but on the overall is the 2nd most enjoyable nas album imo, after illmatic.

...And, Ghetto Prisoner's one of the many underrated Esco GEMS:

I was put on one of the ships that made it
through strong currents and winds that left the others stranded
to sink in the Atlantic
Satan jigs the planet, not to get too religious,
but who deci des when and if your life is finished
If Christ is in this, for the sake of your name, oh Lord
may we break away from the chains abroad

That was one of the hottest albums in the Spring/Summer of 99.

As a whole album, it was all over the place, but the dope tracks were tremendous, I will say this, the album may actually be lyrically amongst Nas's weakest. I mean I think he got outshined by Scarface in Favor for a Favor, and blown away by DMX in Life is What You Make it. Dr. Knockboot was corny to me.

NYSOM2
Hate Me Now
Small World
Favor for a Favor
Big Things
Life is What You Make It
Nas is Like
KISSING
Undying Love

were all good/great songs

I'm surprised at the lack of love this board gives for 'You Won't See Me Tonight' with Aaliyah, that song was flames and low key one of Nas's better singles.

Some of the production hasn't aged well but it was far and away Nas's best produced Album when it dropped, imo.

Still this opening line gives me chills and is maybe my favorite Nas song of all time.

That's basically what the original I Am... was supposed to be.

The best songs from I Am..., and some songs, basically the best from Nastradamus (Come Get Me, Project Windows, Family, Life We Chose etc etc), and like half of The Lost Tapes and some loosies here and there (Day Dreaming, Stay Scheming, etc.) was all intended to be on the original double disc version.
