They produce 50% of the countries fruits, nuts, and vegetables so if they have no water, we'll have massive food shortages.

a lot of California farmers also own alternative operations in Mexico. Florida and Hawaii could probably ramp up to ease an extreme food supply situation. Ditto with Puerto Rico.
