That money got donated this year. When it comes to renovating those buildings you ain’t about to see that for years. Especially with that mold. Depending on the type demo & abatement companies could be there for years.

So many rats in the dorms and cats on campus nikkas started naming them joints

No heat during the winter and sometimes no hot water

Bruh it was legit 8 degrees one night and nikkas had 4 blankets freezing the fukk off smh. Guess what the RA's said, "no yall can't have heaters it's a safety hazard" Us:

One Saturday we were pregaming before hitting a party and walking past the elevator to go to this chick's room to drink and nikkas saw this huge ass moldy mushroom right in front of the elevator .......

My sisters attend a pretty janky HBCU where a shooting took place and I remark at like do y’all actually accept these experiences from your administrations? It’s baffling.

how the fukk is Howard supposed to be the Starship Enterprise of HBCUs and allows this in any capacity tho?

These schools basically have no endowment and the alums aren’t giving shyt. School literally has the land it sits on as the only thing of value and they can’t build on it (cost too much) and selling isn’t an “option”.

So they gotta hope someone rich throws a bag, the govt steps in with a bag, or the students pipe the fukk down

Munger has no architectural training at all
He would not give the money for the form unless they strictly followed his designs
A dorm that housed hundreds with few windows there were TWO fukking exits. TWO.
And these sons of bytches took the money and built the death trap.

I think this may be the issue with HBCUs compared to PWIs. There are much fewer alumni who have the extra income to donate, and fewer kids who come from wealthy families who make donations.

The PWIs that matter have Big time Athletics plus Research that brings in money, so their Donations from notable alum is just the icing on the cake. HBCUs got folks complaining for how much it cost to get in the Step show

Which is fine, but even my limited knowledge base (mostly fam) y’all pay A LOT to go to these places whether in loans or outright tuition. This is absurd that students live in shyt like that.

most HBCUs are very affordable. Howard, Spelman, Morehouse, CAU, Tuskegee, Cookman and a few others are expensive as hell because their private schools.

When I went to Alabama State their tuition was $8K a year for in state, and $16K for us out of state folks, but I had a full scholarship


All HBCUs aren’t like what’s going on at Howard. I’ve never been to their campus so I can’t speak for them, but I don’t have anything to complain about while I was at Bama State besides long lines buts that’s every school, black or white.

I hate how some folks act like HBCUs are the only schools that have issues. My girl went to Georgia Tech & she experienced stuff way worse than anything I’ve heard from someone who complains about HBCUs.

Every school has issues but it seems like only HBCUs get the bad press for it

Mine is considered lower tier(Scsu) but we’ve made a lot of improvements lately. 2 of the old ass dorms aren’t even up anymore and the campus generally looks better

Crazy when you consider Howard is in DC, which has undone massive renovations and development over the past two decades
Howard really just sat there and watched all the change happening around it and didn't bother to rebuild or anything
My alma mater looks completely different than when I was there with all new state of the art buildings and it's a C level state school that costs half as much as Howard. I'm not even mad at all the begging they do in the alum newsletter cause it's obvious where the money is going so I can't even hate.
According to google Howard has an endowment over $700+ million so I'm not even sure if money is the excuse, just seems like trash leadership and likely somebody stealing money
No way in hell kids should be sleeping outside in tents while paying $40k a year tuition
