The original story was that the Hurt Syndicate refused to put over Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight because MVP disliked Mike Bailey. Then it was reported the Hurt Syndicate don't want to drop the titles to FTR either and want to put over a younger tag-team. Then it snowballed into the Hurt Syndicate don't want to put anyone over.

They literally joined AEW because they wanted to do the Hurt Business. That's why MVP convinced Bobby to leave WWE.
If anyone's paying attention, Bobby's eyes light up any time that AEW belt gets mentioned and that's definitely intentional.
It's been tied up in the DR/Hangman storyline since he joined so they've made him an undefeated monster another way. He'll get his time.
