a durag is for maintaing waves, what would that do in this context? (I get a bald fade) I feel like im talking about a diff thing then everyone else is lol

but its not that deep and its all resolved anyways we actually laughed about it
doorag isnt just for waves lol.

in my opinion its to maintain neatness while sleeping and prevent friction on your hairline and shyt .why you think ppl with braids wear doorags fam

Exactly. I used to get done up, hair, makeup alladat, the first couple of months but that got old quick. Since like September 2020, they've seen me clean faced, in cute gym clothes and head wraps. They can take it or leave it :yeshrug:

Some of you dudes need to understand the skill of mixing gift of gab and humor. Also being down to earth puts a lot of people at ease and disarms them. It gets you out of a lot of situations. This of course, requires you to understand your audience. I feel for you brehs who have some micromanaging uptight ass bosses. Sorry.

Also, whoever said white people don't care about that shyt as much as black folks is correct. Sadly it's for the wrong reasons that is the case because their expectations of black hair is really simplistic and stereotypical. It really has to be noticeable for them to even care, if they do care about that. Basically, if you got on a call looking like Buckwheat then they will say something. Not to mention their usual prejudice views on a lot of black hair styles like braids. That is another issue. But in your case, white folks are not going to notice, on a zoom call, that you're not lined up. Only black folks are intune with that shyt. White people don't even understand why we brush our hair when it's short. :stopitslime:

Being force to cam up, is lame, but on a client meeting you should kinda expect it.

Need @Another Man to line up your beard brehs :mjlol:
Breh it just occurred to me how ridic that is.

nikka get a straight razor from Amazon for 15 bucks and keep it moving. If you have a grown out beard, get some Andis and guards and call it a day. I have to shave like every three days. Why would you need to wait for a barber to do it? :dahell:
I'm starting to think OP is spinning some duck tails.

Should of threw on some leave in conditioner, a curl sponge and learn how to shape up your beard if you’re that concerned.

Or schedule haircuts prior.

You could of even put a hat on (with your university) / or (favorite college football team)

You always turn your camera on with a client

Gotta be ducktales. Every breh I know knew how to use some trimmers in college. We couldn't afford to hit the barber every week for a cut or a lineup.

Definitely :duck:.

We need to know the real reason. :mjpls:

Simple story short: on a last minute client zoom meeting.

performing well, giving great input. Mid-call, boss asks me to turn camera on and I joke it off, because im 2 weeks overdue for a cut. My hairline and beard look homeless status until my barber appointment this friday. He gets annoyed I didnt turn it on and tells me after the call.

context: im the only breh, all my coworkers are 60+ YT ppl, They DON’T have a concept of a hairline or needing an edgeup etc they get haircuts once every 2-3 months and have no facial hair.

If I had a few days notice I would definitely arrange to be presentable for camera, but this was only setup 25 minutes prior.

Am I wrong for not wanting to show my James Evans minifro and homeless man beard on Zoom?

have your excuses already built in.

- say you do have it on…”y’all can’t see m?”
- say you have to go in the settings to enable it and then have to restart the machine. Too much hassle
- say the camera malfunctioned and you put in a request for a new laptop
