I don't like to completely dismiss people experiences. While I think a lot of black nerds are whiny losers that get made fun of for being socially awkward instead of simply being smart there are many kids that get made fun of for not fitting into a box.

Kids are ignorant as fukk and I can believe kids that say they were called "white" for not acting a certain way. It happened during my time as a kid. Times have changed now so it's less common to hear kids complain about this now from what I've seen.

Maybe was different at every school, but I went to the second shyttiest high school in my city and I didn't see any of that either op. I mean there was a slight wave of anti- intellectualism there, but no one got picked on for being smart. If you got picked on, it's because you were lame. There were cliques to an extent, but people intermingled freely. I remember a few of the players from the football team were part of the Yu-Gi-Oh players there and no one said shyt to them.

Acting white ain't just about "sounding smart". It could mean: scared, bougie, stuck up, c00nish, "too good" I'm a nikka who was on both sides of the fence. Anecdote.... just remembered being in college first year, pre-med track. In chemistry, we had exams and professor curved it. Later on in lab, I’m checking my score with my lab group and realize I set curve. My female Asian lab partner (bad...) starting choosing heavy. Later, I ended up hooking up with her but anyways.... Another black lab mate got soooooo jealous started trying to throw that shade.. saying “what you do stay at home and study all the time?” I’m like ni66@ this was a freakin review for me....

I was that dude that got straight A's, but no one really thought I was "smart" until they were in the same class with me.

Hung out with brehs that either played football, got high all day or both. It was just assumed I was a knucklehead. By middle school, a couple of (rich) brehs figured out I was smart and paid me to do their homework. I would purposely make sure they got B or B+ grades so it wouldn't look suspicious. Got cash, FUBU jerseys and 2 FOSSIL watches. Being a nerd paid well.

That's essentially my story.

I fought some, stabbed a nikka with a pencil once, got suspended for fighting once. But I was comfortable enough with my people that those negative experiences didn't change the way I thought of them.

My reaction wasn't to stereotype my whole race and forswear them forever.
