I'm not trying to defend Rogan and I'm not saying that David is defending him under the umbrella of people saying shyt as comedians.
My point is that David has made his thoughts on outrage over the internet clear.
I'd be surprised if left himself open to claims of hypocrisy by calling for someone to be cancelled, reacting to comments made years ago, calling on people to be more sensitive with their words etc.
I'd be surprised if he threw someone he was cool with under the bus because people on the internet pressured him into doing so. He's made it clear that he looks at internet groups with a degree of disdain. I don't know if some of that goes back to his first breakdown.
I'm not going to fault him for it. At the end of the day, he's standing by his principles. These are the implications of things we laughed about, at least I laughed about, in his previous special. I'm not going to act outraged when his principles are applied to someone I don't like, that would make me a hypocrite.
Maybe folks have forgotten already that Dave just did this platform censor dance with Netflix only a couple of months ago.
