The ways in which we define our culture should not be determined by the ignorant.

We don't read Shakespeare and make judgements about it based on the opinions of Larry The Cable Guy.

If your argument only makes sense if we defer to the lowest common denominator point of view of morons then it must follow that your argument is moronic.

Just because fools couldn't see much of the subtext, social commentary and satire it doesn't mean we pretend it's not there. By doing so you're inadvertently undermining the extent to which black people are allowed to express themselves intelligently.

Chappelle did not believe his show to be c00nish. He did not have a problem with the content. He was simply afraid that it would eventually grow out of his control, which given the amount of money on the table was a reasonable concern.

I already did, but ill post it again

c00ning is entertainment for the SOLE purpose of entertaining white people and at black persons expense.
So you just gonna use the urban dictionaries definition and not include the sentence right under that? :stopitslime:

Modern day c00ns are blacks who play stereotypical roles

And Dave Chappelle isn't a c00n but the show displayed some c00nery, especially since he had a cac writing a lot of that shyt. :mjpls:

thats what theres saying. If I play or do any role thats stereotypcal...im a c00n

playing basketball is stereotypcal for a black person...so if I decide to play that role im a c00n

that definition doesnt hold tru in different instances...

That's a terrible example :what: What does a white dude helping to write a skit about black people buying Newports and Cadillacs have to do with a black dude want to play in the NBA?

Black youth kill each other in droves yet all you arm chair revolutionaries can do is poo-poo a successful show that's been out of production for the greater part of a decade.

Neal didnt write alot of it..

Paul Mooney actually is responsible for a majority of that content.. hell.. Charlie Murphy wrote more content than Neal..

in closing- Chappelle quit doing the show because he figured he reached his pinnacle, plus the fact it got larger than he expected..

As Patrice O'Neal pretty much went into detail....Dave didnt want to owe that much. Trust me 50 Million dollars is not gonna come with a few "promises" and shyt you gonna have to owe later on down the line and real talk white people started getting a little too comfortable with some of the racial jokes and were not necessarily getting the humor. A lot of them who I worked with at the time were trying to repeat some of his jokes and missed the whole point of them and it came off fukked up. Chris Rock pretty said the same thing and was the reason he regretted telling the nikkas vs. Black People joke years ago. He said too many white people would come up to him saying they knew what he was talking about or knew what he meant and he felt a certain way about that shyt. I'm gonna be real with the white people on here....its just certain shyt that we can say about and around our own people that yall can't. Thats just the way it is. If yall say certain shyt or try to repeat something a black man says about his own people its gonna come off fukked up and pissing a few of us off. Its always a question in the back of our minds like "Did he mean that shyt in a funny way or was that shyt racial? So imagine if you're Dave getting people mainly whites coming up to you laughing at the majority of your racial skits (some repeating them word for word) at the height of your popularity that same question is gonna be magnified X 1000. Not only that they want to give you 50 million to continue doing the shyt......thats a big debt to owe. He just couldnt do it and since he walked away from the money and canceled the show the media automatically smears him and makes him out to be crazy which is bullshyt. That man knew shyt was about to get real and a lot of people were about to own his ass. He said fukk it and walked his own path. I aint even mad at him.

Nope because he is far from one. Sometimes you look back at shyt in retrospect and realize damn, should I have done that? Just like the Chris Rock ****** joke. I think Dave is probably still uncomfortable when white people laugh at shyt like the slavery reparations or things black people like skits. A lot of people in here are offended at the notion of this thread because the show was so funny.
