You're gonna tell me that if a black artist, with the same skill and diversity and concept songs as Eminem were to come along he would be ranked higher? First...there has been a number of emcees as skilled and diverse as Em. Did they ever have even a modicum of Eminem's acclaim? Eminem gets rated over dudes with otherworldly skills and have been much more consistent. Common, Blackthought, Redman, etc..should be ranked above Eminem in GOAT lists. Second...Eminem HIMSELF on several occasions ADMITTED that his success is greatly attributed to his skin color.

The success is the keypart...if a Blackthought,Redman or Common blewup and was the highest selling rapper of all time they would be beloved, but obviously as black men they would make better music that relates to black folks....I basically made up an imaginary scenario that would never happen:laff:...as much as being white might be his handicap as to why he can't make music that appeals to black folks who really decide the goat list, the success he has had becuz he is white is the only reason he's mentioned in these top all time list anyway...so as wrong as sum of y'all may think we wrong bcuz we say "we can't relate bcuz he's white:manny:" basically....stop cryin like his race ain't been a tremendous boost to his career....its poetic justice he should have to deal with a handicap considering the advantages he's had....and no bein whites not an advantage for every white rapper, but it is for those few who break thru and he wuz one of em...and his "handicap" is sum shyt he might not and probaly doesn't even care about(appealing to black people)

You think Jay's cornier songs are cornier than EM's? I don't think Jay has ever done a song as bad as Puke, Fack and most of the Encore album and a bunch of others. You not think the Jay songs I mentioned were somewhat deep? For instance I love his verse on I Still Got Love For You, I found that pretty deep and honest. I think a lot of it may be preference so might just be a case of just differing opinions and perspectives.

No, I meant Eminem makes cornier songs but he also makes more substantial songs.

Oh I see, I agree on the cornier songs part, I don't think I agree on the makes more substantial songs part but I guess it depends what someone considers substantial.

1 great album, 2 good ones and a bunch of bullshyt don't get you on a top-5 list. :why:

If you're talking just PURE SKILLS on the mic it's arguable but in a all-time list your body of work is the most important factor and placing ANY of Em's albums next to shyt like IWW,RD,Ready 2 Die,Me Against The World,ATLiens,Doggystyle etc...is laughable :heh:

Even second tier "classics" from lesser emcees are better TM101,400 Degreez,E.99 Eternal,Trap Musik,Tha Carter,Diplomatic Immunity and albums like that are higher on my list than MMLP off replay value alone.

Drop your top 40:stopitslime:

my lists are exclusive to my threads.

but i'll say this much. 40 years of hip-hop, and you cant believe it when someone doesn't have Eminem in their top 40? a guy that never came close to making a classic album, and has like what? ONE certified classic song? not to mention minimal influence & genuine impact on the culture.
