Malpractice was the downfall. Blackout and Docs the name were his peaks commercially. Muddy Waters was my introduction to Redman and it will always be my favorite from him. I didn't even know he had two other albums until I came across them at Beatstreet in downtown Brooklyn in 99.

Redmans the guy I always say is 100 times better then his discography. To me his albums suck, except for muddy waters and even that was like a 7outta10. Granted I've never spun dare iz... front to back. I always turn it off so that must say something. I don't like the production he raps over. Dude can spit his ass off. He'll always get love from me but he probably has the most over rated disco ever.

He's very good at what he does and i like a lot of his songs but he never had a song that really touched my heart like a 2pac or a Jay-Z or a Common.

He did have a song that really touched me on an emotional level... This one below:

Probably the 10 dudes ahead of him, it's not his fault.

It's like shytting on the 12th richest man for not being among the 10 richest, even if #10 is worth 20 billion and #12 19.3 billion.

But I'd assume that it's his very niche style, and that he doesn't really shine outside of it. Which means that a lot of people will consider him top 5, while others just respect him but really don't play his music.

Doc's Da Name is a very good album. If you like Muddy Waters you will basically like a lot of songs on Doc's Da Name to. IMO

some of the comments in here....
:scust:

Redman has 3 classic albums, how many other rappers can claim that? And this isn't on some half classic or maybe classic shyt either. Certified.

Doc's Da Name is 4 mic worthy and Malpractice is still very solid and Red Gone Wild is a strong album as well. Reggie was only to fulfil contract requirements with Def Jam I believe so it was more of a rushed and half-assed project. Mudface was one of the best albums last year.

Now Muddy Waters 2 coming out and if the beats are on point you know it's gonna be great because Redman can STILL rap incredibly well.

Top 10 on everyone's list he should be.

Top 3 for me.
