Nah one rep maxes are good,because in order to get stronger and do more reps at a lower weight you gotta push heavier shyt,gotta take chances,but nothing crazy,like 30 pounds more than your actual max that's just dumb,but 2.5,5 or even 10 pounds more is ok,to get stronger you gotta lift heavier
its not crazy, but the average dude is NOT throwing up 225. i did that shyt a couple times in college, def couldnt do it nowI think folks need to rep where they're from.
It's weird that people callingover 225. I live in Brooklyn. Retro Fitness on Flatbush where I go. 225 is damn near average over there. 275 is routine.
225 is not crazy to me.
So then do what i do and do 5 reps. It didnt stop me from getting alot stronger. And i improved drastically. Sure there were times i struggled to lift..but i never knowingly went into a weight knowing i could lift it only once.
